JOYRIDE trailer is up... but don't download it!

Published at:  Jul 12, 2001 3:26:36 AM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here... I'm a big fan of John Dahl's films... even his worst films have been entertaining for me, and this time he has a flick with Paul Walker, Steve Zahn and Leelee Sobieski. So being a Dahl fan as soon as the Trailer hit the web I went to Download it. AND AS IS TYPICAL THESE DAYS, I saw way way waaaaay more of the film than necessary. Do not download the trailer for JOYRIDE, it gives way too much away... though it all looks good.

The film is basically a riff on DUEL and that great ol TV movie, ARE YOU IN THE HOUSE ALONE? Although I'm sure many of you aren't familiar with that last one.... But it would be better for you to search that film out... than to see the trailer.

However, if you simply have to see the trailer, Here It Is... Choke on it.... I did.

But made for a spoon? I dont know .. there is something disconcerting about a site that likes to tell you more about a flick then anyone else.. that then tells you DONT look at something that tells you more about a flick then anything else available? [shiver] Anyways.. heh.. I never was smart enough for my own good.. so IM ready and raring to go and shew me some preview!! ;)

I don't need to see the movie now...

what is up with these trailers? You've got the whole freakin movie outlined for you in 2 minutes or less.
Gee, I wonder if they will have to take their clothes off and go into the diner....ooopp, I guess so because they've already showed it on the trailer!
Cheez Whiz, they could have chopped this thing in half and really INTRIGUED the audience into checking out the movie.

    But that's just me.

Why do they have to show everything?

    by tenguman

I saw this movie at a sneak like half a year ago. It was a pretty good movie, and also a pretty scary one. But, when I saw the trailer on Kiss the Dragon, I was really disappointed to see practically EVERYTHING on there. BUT!!!! there is a scene they showed in the trailer that they didnt have in the showing I saw. I haven't seen the "naked restaurant" scene. So now I gotta go back and watch it again. But I don't mind... it was a fun little thriller. Oh, and as for this whole Quicktime/Media Player arguement... I prefer Quicktime over MP, but maybe its cuz I get the Medium and High res files. But theory is, when you have the hard drive space and the speed of a decent connection, then by all means use it! But I do think its a bit unfair that they dont also supply a MP version of the trailers for those who don't have space and speed.

    WOW!! How crappy!

I guess Zahn needed a paycheck bad. Either that or someone has some very compromising pictures of him somewhere. And Leeloo is not attractive at all.

let me guess... paul walker and steve zahn have mad gay sex and lose their clothes to leelee sobieski and end up in some hick town coffee joint where broads are waiting to suck them off.

  • it looked (from the trailer) like something I wouldn't want to waste my money on. And the first thing I said once the trailer was over..."uh, so is this a another view of 'Duel'?" - but I consider "Duel" to be one of my all-time favorite movies. AND when I saw that John Dahl directed (?).....keep in mind I love "Red Rock West", "The Last Seduction" and didn't he also direct "Kill Me Again"? Anywhoos, love John Dahl....but can I question this movie until I see it?
