That fast, huh? Scott Backula rules...
-
... as long as I get to see Buffy's sweet ass on TV again. SSSSLLLLUUUURRRRRPPPPP!!!!!
-
...if only I'll be able to actually WATCH any of them anytime soon. Will my local WB affliate pick them up from UPN like they said they might? Only time will tell I guess...
-
Has there been ANYTHING posted on the net yet regarding what this show will actually LOOK like. Curiosity, mostly. Morbid, maybe.
-
...when does Angel premiere? Is it the same week, in which case I'll have to tape it to avoid Buffy spoilers, or is it the week after? My gosh, the WB sucks.
-
That will be nice. UPN needs this, bad.
-
i can not WAIT for this!
-
sigh...i love SMG...but why, OH WHY?, does she have to be with whatshisface?

Cuz ok, I'm just wondering, it's been about a year since the last 730 reference (In Buffy's dream in Restless, her alarm clock says it's 7:30 AM) so i'm wondering if anyone's figured that one out yet... i have not... so... please help me :) thanks a bunch!! Hurray!
-
Two years between "Graduation Day, Part 2" (when the 730 comment was made) til "The Gift" (when Buffy died for Dawn). Joss confirmed as much. Faith's exact comment was that Little Miss Muffet was counting down from 730. Little Miss Muffet = Dawn. Kind of ironic that Faith threw herself off a building to seeming death just to keep Buffy from saving Angel's life in "GD2" and Buffy threw herself off of that platform so she could save Dawn's. Also, you could say that Buffy and Dawn's relationship is a bit like Buffy and Faith's (only without the lesbian subtext, cause yuck).

baby don't you wanna go, back to that same old place, Sweet Home Chicago? Anyway, can't wait for the new Buff Stuff. We're on a mission from God.

As this seems to be the Gellar-Ass Talkback, I'm offically predicting that before Buffy stops production, and possibly even before the first UPN episode, little sister Dawn/Michelle Trachenberg will suddenly blossom into a major hottie-bombshell and her ass will rule the talkbacks week in and week out. You heard it here first. That is all.

What in god's name is so magical about Wednesday nights? (The Enterprise date is a Wednesday - I presume its Vger's old slot.) I'm trying really hard to think like a scheduling executive: "Well - gosh - intelligent folks who like intelligent television programs sure seem to like that West Wing show...I bet I could capture that audience by running my new Star Trek show at the same time." Why the hell don't they put it somewhen that us folks who WANT to give the thing a chance will at least watch it? How come these up-and-coming networks don't run their worst rerun crap against the real audience grabbers and then run a show like Enterprise at a time that they KNOW the target demographic has free? I'd rather see them put it up against the NFL on Monday Nights than force me to catch them when West Wing goes into reruns (if ever). grrrrr. - Mac
-
Dammit... dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit.. :( i was really hoping that that whole 2 years thing was just a crazy rumor and that there was something important to it... it just seems very very lame that the reason for it was Hurray, we're out of our contract... :( screw that... grumble grumble
-
Enterprise is airing Wednesdays @ 8pm, not 9pm like Voyager.
-
Mac_27, Ent is scheduled for 8PM so it is not opposite WW. It sounds like they want to give it a chance unlike Vger(which sucked anyway). Lets keep our fingers crossed that Scott Bakula can inject some life into Star Trek again.
-
ok the year 2000 was a leap year, which give an extra day so it should have been 731.
-
Ms. T's ass and entire hindage area suffers from continually being relegated to flats or NO shoes at all so as not to tower over SMG in their scenes. To graduate to a hotted up context, Joss will have to stick Dawn in some of big sis's fuck-me heels.
-
I have to wait until October to see the BVS resolution?!? DAMN! THey better run through the entire season from there, with gaping month and half hiatuses...geez!
-
The Buffy season premiere, the UPN premiere is on my damn birthday! Hey, thanks for the present, Joss and company!
-
...since "Graduation Day, Part 2" aired in July, it would be two whole months less than two years between that ep and "The Gift". Of course, we BtVS fans could never be that anal about stuff like that.
-
Not only does Buffy premiere, but we've got the super-delux Godfather box set coming out on DVD that same day. And it's only a week before my birthday! Happy happy joy joy... happy happy joy joy...
-
Lesbian subtext between Buffy and Faith? Did I miss something. You guys have too much time to think this stuff up. It seems more people are worried about SMGs ass than you are the show. Too bad we have to wait till Oct. Thought. What happend to an early start? Enterprise. I am still laughing at what a terrible premise this is. If the first episode is not good, not more chances for the sake of the franchise. We are not giving them 2 years again (or 7 for Voyager) to have the show blossom. The guys at Trek have a lot of pressure this time around because they have done such a good job of ramming the franchise into the garbage.
-
I can't look at SM Gellar in the same way again. It's like the honey you always fancied in school when some toss-pot came along and rammed his rancid cock inside her and made her unclean! But maybe there's a slight hope they'll go the way of Tom and Nicole. Nicole needs a real man (i.e. hetro) to show her what real love is. Ditto SM Gellar.
-
Buffy premieres October 9, Special Unit 2 on October 3.
-
I think Buffy will come back evil! That's right-your favorite slayer comes back revived by the Dark forces to be their champion and will bed Spike! A new Slayer will arrive and everyone will hate her because they will think she's just being unfair to Buffy. Giles will go back to England because it will appear that everything is fine at Sunnydale-then the truth slowly comes out as Buffy begins to lash out at the Scoobs. Spike also frees himself from her love at this point and rejoins the Scoobs. The New Slayer is more tolerated by them as well. Then when they have the middle of the season Willow and Giles come up with some spell to bring Good Buffy back and it requires Willow to use some dangerous dark magick-which leads to the Switcheroo that Joss always deals out-Buffy turns good and Willow goes bad. The rest of the season leading up to the finale deals with the Scoobs trying to help willow redeem herself against all the dark Creations she has made. Well what do you guys think of that?
-
I'm beginning to think that killing Buffy was just plain stupid. Not intriguing, it's just a boring stupid plotline to make us forget that the main villian was incompent with no good use other than to look good. Glory was a reject villian, come to think of it..Buffy has been FULL of reject villians lately. Even Dracula was a joke! I'm starting to think Whedon has no clue how to make big bads that are actually BIG BADS.
-
Just as long as Buffy is back soon, that all I care about. Well, not all...I was wondering if you guys confirm or deny a wild rumour I heard: that a certain vampire-slaying young actress has been seen breaking in a new pair of "sensible" shoes at the kind of bars where there's nary a Tom, dick or Freddy in sight. If anyone's got the skinny: details, girlfren', de-TAILS!

Why worry about Enterprise being put up against Worst Wing..
by Key_Card
that show really sucks anyway. At least they got the direction correct in the title since if you face a compass West is on the left.
-
...about the Big Bad much anymore. Basically they're all just cardboard cutouts to be knocked down to him. He likes the life stuff. (Did you guys see "The Body"? It was the best ep of the season and it was Glory free!) That makes for the most interesting stuff anyways. All I want is for the Big Bad to be really funny again (ie Spike, the Mayor). If we're going to be subjected to someone who is peripheral for an entire season, at least give them a few laughs. Clare Kramer not exactly a gifted comedienne and they didn't even try with George Hertzberg.
-
I have a friend who profiled her for Biography magazine and stated that the people he spoke to (he didn't interview Sarah herself) danced around lightly when talking about her personal life. He got the strong impression she might be gay. Also Freddy P Jr has had the gay rumors also. So they'd make great beards for one another. But as ambitious and career minded as she is...I highly doubt she'd let herself be seen in a Dyke Bar.
-
Here's an idea. The Scoobs gather at the shop to plan how to whip Glory. Buff and Spike go to Buffs house so she can 'prepare'. She invites Spike over the threshold (wait for it) and Spike does the 'I know you'll never love me but...' speech then cut scene. I think the deal is that Buffy Knows she cant kill glory, that glory will kill her, she must protect dawn, can't do it if she's dead - but she can if she's like spike and Angel... cue an off screen bite (not on neck for obvious reasons) and Buffy rising from the grave to 'protect' Dawn figuring that if Angel and Spike can be guardians (mitigating circs in both - but she is the slayer after all) then so can she.... Arise UnDead Buffy - Let the chaos begin...
-
OK I just read something about being able to watch the series from the start.. I missed this news.. are they rerunning the whole thing from season 1, and if so, when? Or are we talking about the DVDs finally coming out?
-
I work at a closed-captioning facility in Burbank, and we've recently been recaptioning a whole load of Buffy episodes. Why are we doing this? Because the eps have been trimmed and time-compressed for FX. That's right - the eps have been paired down and shorn of all sorts of important dialogue bits. Here's one of the most egregious examples: remember that ep where Gilessays to Angel, "A vampire in love with a slayer. It's rather poetic." That line is GONE, trimmed for time. That line and SO MANY OTHERS. Granted, this sort of time compression for syndicated reruns has gone on for years, but it's a damned shame that the greatness of Buffy had to be compromised. Don't trust the FX showings - pick up the DVD's for the COMPLETE Buffy.
-
(Well, not *you* exactly, but the information in your post.) I'm one of those misguided souls who didn't start watching Buffy until the middle of season 3. I've been waiting impatiently to see the old episodes in syndication, and now I find out that nefarious network executives have been mucking about with them. AAARRRRGGGHHH!!! I curse them! May an untreatable fungus infest their naughty bits!
-
I don't know if what Messiahman says will pan out because I have been led astray a few times by different posters-no offense offered M. But I haven't noticed any cuts of the NYPD Blue or X-Files reruns on FX so I'd appreciate a confirmation by someone else out there-please?
-
Well harm, you're not likely to get too much confirmation coming your way, since all the recaptioning is being done at my office, which doesn't have the largest staff just yet (we have maybe 20 people altogether) - I understand the nature of untrustworthy posts here on AICN, but I assure you that mine in one hundred percent accurate. See, the eps were initially captioned for their original WB runs by Fox's in-house captioners. However, we've received all the first and second seasons eps (with the other seasons on the horizon) with a major reformatting order. I've personally recaptioned five of the eps and discovered all sorts of missing bits - moments of exposition, humorous asides and jibes by Cordelia (an inordinate amount of these are missing) and the like. It's like they cut the guts out. Often, in cases such as XF, what you'll get is time compression, which is where they just trim a few frames here and there to round out playtime without any noticable subtractions, but BUFFY has been hacked apart in a similar vein to THE WONDER YEAR, TAXI and PICKET FENCES (all of which have had significant bits removed for syndication,). Trust me when I say that DVD is the way to go. I was looking forward to checking out a few of the second season eps on FX, since it'll undoubtedly be quite a while til the second season DVD set is out - but now, I'm quite content to wait, rather than see some of my favorite television episodes butchered.
-
Viacom cut STAR TREK scenes but those 1960's eps were 50 minutes long commercial free so cutting to fit 45 min. sydication blocks makes sense, but BUFFY eps are already 42-45 minutes long. The only logical reason would be to increase the direct sales merchandise. Those VHS and DVDs are more valuable if you market them as "complete, uncut episodes as originally aired." Good news though: the European Union is looking into multi-region coding. Hollywood may in the end pay for this BS of one part of the world being denied stuff other parts have enjoyed for months or (perhaps in the case of "Eyes Wide Shut)YEARS.-----later-----m
-
I guess I'll keep them after all, since they no cuts in dialougue, but maybe cuts in violence (the shows are from Canada).
-
Iblis-you took the words( with a little censorship) right out of my mouth! Those damn Son of the Beach commercials make me wince when I am watching X-Files: the good years on FX! Absolutely pulls the creep factor out of some of those classic episodes. Messiahman-thanks for the heads up and do you have any updates for the DVD releases-seeing as how it would make sense for them to come to you to do the captioning for them as well.
-
SMG may have a great ass, and we have yet to know what's coming on the Ent crew, but Jeri Ryan surpasses them all. Those long legs, tight ass, and perfect (large!) tits! Damn.
-
I just read-I think on the scifi.com page that Tony Head is being looked at for aDr Who movie. I thought Hugh Grant was offerred that but Head would be better.

Has anyone heard anything definitive about Shannen Doherty having a recurring role on Buffy? I think I'm going to cry.
-
Cool...... my roommate said He Heard this on the radio yesterday Is It true??? I'm a fan of her's and Charmed (I'll watch that show still, cause I love Alissa )I'm wondering what this New Buffy will Be like ?? BUT......I thought once a SLAYER is killed another arises (remember Faith and Kena "I think that's her name")does this mean Shannen will be on the show as the new Slayer cause of BUFFY'S death Hmmm makes you think HUH??
-
Head is being looked at to play The Master in a Dr Who movie. Hugh Grant could still be the Dr.
-
Sorry for my mistake about Dr. Who and I had to accidently post it twice to make sure everybody noticed. I don't like Doherty; I was glad she left "charmed" and I sure don't want her on "Buffy". She makes trouble every where she goes. Besides didn't she say she was glad to leave "Charmed". So why would she want to do another tv series? They said "Buffy" was a happy set; would Doherty change that?
-

I would really like to have Buffy's season 6 UPN trailers on tape. The ones I really need are Dawn's #1 (the one where she's holding a stake), Xander's #1, and Willow's #1. If you can help me please e-mail me at Bershka82@aol.com
