De Ravin Off ROSWELL''
According to a zap2it.com
story:
“At this point, [series producer Ron] Moore doesn't anticipate any cast changes beyond the departures of Colin Hanks (whose character, Alex, was killed off to allow Hanks to pursue film opportunities) and [Emilie] de Ravin.”
De Ravin’s character, the pregnant blonde temptress Tess, was last seen rocketing on an interstellar journey toward her home planet. But unlike Alex, she was still very much alive and carrying Max’s baby, so it was certainly within the realm of possibility that she’d be back on a regular basis for season three.

By the way, expect “Star Trek” vet Moore back for “Roswell’s” third season on a full-time basis, as the “Dragonriders of Pern” series he was to mastermind for the WB was scrapped before its pilot was shot.

I liked Tess. I was hoping she'd stay on and sort of become a villainess.
-
what about the good tess, the one that was raised in new york? she should be coming back now, making the royal four complete and not getting in the way of max and liz. besides, emilie deravin is too beautiful to be oof this show.
-
i thought that tess might stay on and become sort of villainess as well. for her to totally leave the show now makes no sense, especially after all that stuff about the royal four that they played up so much during this past season. yeah we all know why she probably left, because of talkboards full full of fans who hate tess for the simple fact that she keeps max and liz apart, which i think is a dumb reason to hate a character really. i mean, i always thought dawson and joey should have stayed together on dawson's creek(don't make fun people, i'm pretty young) but i don't hate pacey just cause he got dawson's girl. then again, emille could've simply wanted to leave the show, i mean they just explained that colin hanks left for film, so she could've as well. either way, i miss tess already

As far as I knew, Emilie was only hired onto the show b/c she was dating one of the producers... meaning her audition was the bedroom sort... so does her firing mean they've broken up and the producer didn't want her hanging around anymore?

You can go back trolling underneath the rocks where you came from.

One of the main reasons for falling so head over heals for "Roswell" was the romance and attraction between Max and Liz. tess pissed me off from day one, and always felt she would betray the gang. It is true she was not a good actress, but in the last season, really came across likable when she "faked" being happy in the fanily with Kyle and sherrif Valenti. This is why this show needed to be saved, engrossing content and characters!

Say what you want about de Raven, I liked her, I just HATED Tess. I really like the other Tess in New York, I forget what she was called, and I just assumed she'd be back to replace Tess since supposedly the royal four needs to be a unit in order for them to survive. I never thought Tess would be back as a villainess though since supposedly Earth is so far away that no one can travel the distance without the granilith or the skin-suits or the possession thing with people like Brody.******I am both relieved and sorry about the Pern show dying--which is old news, but still a talkback is a talkback. I don't think that the dragons would have been at all convincing on TV with the typical shoe-string budget and, of all production houses, Tribune in charge. Does no one remember the awful effects of their Sinbad series? Even Hercules and Xena had better monsters! The only thing noteworthy about that show was it's male lead, and with the WB making Pern, that's probably all that would have been noteworthy about it too. I'm glad Moore decided not to move forward with a WB-ified version of McCaffrey's Pern stories. Kudos to him for respecting the material too much to let become crap. I'm sorry that Moore won't be doing it now though, since he's said he isn't sure he'll keep trying to get a series made. If anyone should adapt a book series, it should be someone who shows that much respect for the source material. Though, I'd rather see a movie series. Get off your ass, Hollywood, and make some High Fantasy movies for a fricking change! There are tons of books out there, you don't have to spit-ball it like that lame-ass Dungeons and Dragons movie! LOTR isn't the last word on epic fantasy, it's close, but it's not all she/he wrote if you get my meaning.

I dont think they gave her enough to do on the show and yes, she wasnt a great actress. I dont think Liz is that great either though. Stop that whining already. I think they need to fine tune the show a bit next season. Decide what direction they want it to go into. Colin Hanks left to do movies? What was that one movie that he did that bombed? he cant follow in Dads footsteps for long. I think he tried to be oo much like Tom Hanks in the show and it was distracting. Anyway, the show couldnt decide what kind of show it wanted to be. First part was really good then started getting in to the who slept with who romance. I dont mind romance but intermix it with the Sci-Fi premise. If I want to watch Dawsons Creek, I will. Bring something in to mix things up a bit and Give Kiel more to do too.

Tess gone for good? Personally, I don't think she made an impact on the series in general. She was created to be the villian, and the villian usually gets killed or "sent off" as one story line concludes and another begins. Her story may not be finished, and she may pop up to cause problems for Max and the rest at the Crashdown at some point in season three (sweeps months, maybe?), but not being a regular for next season, so what? As with most of the villians, except for the creepy Miko Hughes, all the villians are paper thin and obvious. As I've said before, take the series in a new direction: Less teenage angst and more adult, sci fi stories.

If there is a God, someday after or during his excellent work on Roswell, Moore will return to write a DS9 movie or telefilm. I have enjoyed his work on Roswell and I hope he stays, but Trek would be lucky to get him back. DS9 was the best Trek. I'm looking forward to UPN's Buffy/Roswell night. At least they appreciate good shows.

Brattain-you took the words right out of my mouth! I hear that Enterprise hired a hack writer from 7-days-a show where the lead star himself complained about the lack of character development! Sounds like it is going to be another Voyager all over again. Anyway-about Tess-I never thought she looked that good-a nice body but a face like pig, and I am not one of those guys who's all out to get her because of the Max-Liz dynamic- I sincerely think she was never that hot-anyone else agree? Finally, Cher s keeps posting these links to her website. I checked it out and it is not worth it-it is just a bunch of Latch key kids with foul mouths that have asinine and childish discussions about various Roswell Characters' boobs. you are better off here.

Tess was the LEAST attractive female cast member, cute yes but come on she was on a show with not one, not 2, but 3 goddesses. In other news, too bad if Braga did hire the writer from 7 days. And that Cher S site is weak: I'm not going to spend 4 hours hunting for the info she's advertising. So Miss C: why were the changes made?-----later-----m

Emilie was a really good villain I thought, but that's probably why I hated Tess so much. That and she got in the way of Max and Liz. I really think Ava should come back. I really liked that character and sort of miss her.
