HOUSE OF A 1000 CORPSES tidbit

Published at:  May 22, 2001 1:58:19 PM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here with this little pointer to some coolness... Mr Angrove was pondering the finer points of life everlasting, when he happened upon RobZombie.Com and forwarded me a link he found to something... pretty cool... There's a FLASH feature on HOUSE OF A 1000 CORPSES with some quite striking images from the film...

Ok, so this brings us to the next part.... WHEN DO WE GET TO SEE THIS FILM? Do we get to see this film? I just saw BAISE MOI last night... that's gonna be shown in theaters in the United States... it has full penetration and a gun shoved up someone's ass and then the trigger pulled.... I DOUBT SEVERLY IF ROB HAS ANYTHING THAT VILE.... and I guarantee that his film is at least 2000 times better filmed than BAISE MOI... Let's see this thing!

Seen you post news on this film for the site and i thought you might be interested in this CLICK HERE FOR THE HORROR!!!

    Disturbing

    by silent_nick

Well, it looks interesting to say the least. I have to admit that besides hearing about human sentinels in X-MEN 2, that flash thing was the most disturbing thing I've seen in a while

"What is going on with 'House of 1000 Corpses'???"
ROB: The movie is in the process of changing to a new distributor...DON'T WORRY!!! You WILL see this film in its most INTENSE version!

So Rob himself seems pretty confident that we will see it eventually. Personally, I can't wait.

...I ate a large bowl of French bouillabaisse. I can understand why Stacie Snider dropped the film. She's probably affraid some fucking kid out there will recreate one of these characters and go on a killing spree or some shit. Well, Stace, if you did your homework, you would have known that Hammer's "Dracula" saved Universal from bankruptcy when it was originally released and that film was considered too horrible for its time too. Same thing with Hammer's "Quatermass Xperiment" where a kid had a heart attack from fright from watching the film. The story was bogus, but what a sensation it caused, thus adding to Hammer's bank account. Universal also turned down "Star Wars" too. Oh, well.

    Universal

    by ridge

I can't believe Universals standpoint on this? It seems that this woman ISN'T really doing her job correctly? I mean come on, she's choosing to not release this movie as SHE doesn't like Horror movies? I thought it didn't matter what her personal opinions were? I thought she had to be impartial on all movies that were presented to her? Talk about a load of crap. Universals probably just pissed Rob didn't throw in 'Freddie Prinze Jr' or 'Leo DiCaprio' or something like that and hence won't take it. I don't know if this movie will 're define' horror or anything like that, but I have faith in Robs love for horror movies and I trust that the movie will be none the less different to the usual slew of supposed 'horror' bullshit we've seen lately. 90 percent of these supposed horrors (Scream, IKWYDLS, Urban Legend)actually fall under the murder-mystery banner and NOT the horror banned. Sure there were a few frights but c'mon it was always about 'guess the killer', you may as well have been playing Cluedo.... It was Matt Lillard! In the hallway! With the gun!... my point is, that Universal right now has a very unfair woman heading it up who is using the company as her own private cinema release program. She should be impartial, judge a movie on its merits and possibilities and NOT on what her personal taste says. Thats my 2 cents. What do you guys think?

Fantasia rocks, but this will just hum.

    by samwave

It looks like a music video. That's bad. There's no annoying pirate music. That's good! There wasn't anything interesting to look at. That's bad. But we'll see the most intensely violent version possible. .. .. That's good. .. What movie is this?

  • Rob's film has Bill Moseley for chrissakes! That's better than tons of CGI effects and a stupid friggin rehashed story. Since when did The Mummy become an action/adventure film series. Isn't it supposed to be horror? Isn't it supposed to invoke fear and revulsion? Screw that Sommers film, Old Monkey is with Rob on this one. Although I loved Sommers' far-more-entertaining DEEP RISING, Universal really screwed the pootch with this film from the dark one, Rob Zombie.

Why are like 90% of the jag-offs who talk-back, such cynical pricks?! Maybe you've reached critical mass, both in your consumption of every bit of entertainment good and bad, and with your hemispheric burrito eatin' asses. Tell you what, you spanky's pull your collective "I know everything about everything" vitriol dribbling noses outta the air, and create something! hang yer dick out on the line. and learn what it means to temper your opinion with thought. Hell you might get some passion in your life and not waste EVERY moment of it consuming everything in sight and trashing it cuz "you could have done it better". Get a fuck'n grip.

    by buster29

i think you should count your selves jolly lucky that at the very least, that in the US there are people trying very hard to provide top class horror entertainment. I come from Britain all we seem to do these days is make films about posh wankers who work in the media who fall in love with other wankers.

    Universal 2ers

    by ridge

Heh, you think its bad in the UK? In Australia we hardly *ever* get a decent horror movie made... in general opinion CUT was utter utter shite, a really bad cliche' ridden 'horror' that still sucked the big one. Though it did have some rather good murder scenes... that kinda sounds contradictory doesn't it? Oh well. All I can say is I look forward to Corpses, not cause I expect it to beearth shattering but because I want it to be at least entertaining. Anyhow ciao.

    by hennesy williams

Based on the montage that I saw at RobZombie.com, this film reminds me of Last House On Dead End Street. The images were disturbing. I just hope there's no annoying Rock music to spoil the atmosphere. If the film has a creepy and atmospheric film score, sans Rob Zombie or Marylin Manson music, it could work.

    House of 1000 Problems

    by tortis

What the hell is going on Universal? Are you afraid of a little violence? A little blood and gore, carnage candy? What about Hannibal, did you ever think of that? Granted, it was played (I think) for laughs, but still, it did have a scene of extremely graphic violence. I'm telling you geeks, the reason this movie is in deep shit is because the name "Rob Zombie" is attached to the credits, not only as music composer/writer, but also as director and writer.
Man, that royaly pisses me off! I mean, if the movie's good, release it. But, in a way, Universal did the right thing in letting go of Rob's project, because if they didn't, then we would have the shitiest horror film in recent memory, and yes, it would be WORSE then The Blair Witch Project. Though I did hear it on the grapevine that House is going to be released in October, through an independent movie company. I guess Rob was right, this is an old school type horror film. Texas Chainsaw was released as an indie, and it was one of the scariest films, I think, of all time! So maybe, just maybe, we will have a new horror classic for the 21st century. Here's hopin'.

    Someone release this movie!!!

    by pr_gmr

Someone release this movie...with the type of mainstream crap studios have been releasing it's beyond me why they won't release this movie..which looks to be a mile apart from the usual boring Hollywood fare.Stacie Snider (? whatever her name is) is a F***** wanker for pulling out this film from release.
Meanwhile the current state of American horror film continues to be dismal thanks to actions such as Universal.
Rob--Go Indie!! Get this released somehow!!
