Anyway, I digitized it into a quick-and-dirty 240x180 QuickTime file, and you can grab it for yourself at THIS LINK!

"It's a trap... they actually set a trap!"

    by Chris Knight TFN

Best line of the whole darn show... INCLUDING the Survivor finale itself!

  • May 3, 2001, 6:41 p.m. CST

    the name sucks

    by krackato

Why is named JP III? "The Lost World" was a much cooler name than JP II, so why would they name this JP III. I wouldn't be surprised if this completely bombs.

  • May 3, 2001, 6:45 p.m. CST

    well jeez

    by BenDaRas

I have kept a pessimistic atitude since I heard it was being made. I hated the second one with a very few exceptions, but damn that looks pretty cool. The raptors, particulary when their runniung look impressive and the spinosaurous (sp?) looks awsome pareticularly when it's coming up out of the water. I still am not totally convinced but boy is that a step in the right direction.

This trailer looks pretty exciting. The only thing from a the production that sounded weak is the whole parasailing thing. I hate gimmicky stuff designed to sell toys and playsets. Also, Macy publicly bashing the ending doesn't help either.

Looks good so far, but it's only a trailer... The special effects seemed good. I thought Laura Dern was in this too?

  • May 3, 2001, 6:54 p.m. CST

    Yippee Kai Yay!!

    by SaintX99

    I can't wait!!!!!!!!!

  • May 3, 2001, 6:57 p.m. CST

    The trap line.

    by yneway

Who here had flashbacks to Tremors? I did. Looking back not sure why RotJ didn't come to mind. Anyway it looked much cooler than I thought it would.

They're flyin' baby! They're flyin'!!! They're mean, they're green, they're smarter than your average talkbacker and... fuck... I dunno... woo-hooo!! This plus The Mummy makes me a happy, happy boy.

I can't wait for this movie! I loved the first 2 and I know I'll really enjoy this one. The return of Dr. Grant! I read about the JP3 TV spot earlier today, on a Jurassic Park site. It was another reason just to watch the Last Survivor! Still can't believe "That" person won... booo!!! *Won't give it away for the ones who haven't seen it yet* But anyway. Can't wait for JP3!!!

Did i just watch the preview to freakin Jurassic Park 3? did i not just enjoy said freakin trailer? If this trailer is any sign of how the actual film will be, then i am prepared to jizm my shorts went i sit through this film. This just seems so much darker than the first too and i am actually hoping this blows the first two away. *gasp* i need air!!

  • May 3, 2001, 7:50 p.m. CST

    hot diggety damn..

    by Bejesus

they've got bill macy, tea leoni (ba-bam!), *and* fucking sam neil back.. i don't want a new and innovative storyline for this one. i just want some new and innovative dinosaur chases and attacks.. to hell with the acrobatic kids! give me some of that sweet, sweet raptor attackin'. they can do something thought-provoking with the fourth film.. have fun with this one.

  • May 3, 2001, 8:06 p.m. CST

    Finally, REAL dinosaurs!!!

    by sprocket-bot

I'll be the first (probably not) to admit I was (and to a lesser extent, still am) skeptical about the third outing...the one thing that's swayed me from being totally against this is Joe Johnston directing. Most of his films have been straight forward and fully entertaining adventures (even an seemingly overlooked drama, October Sky proved he could stretch his legs with more serious fare). Even though we've never seen him direct a full on thriller/monster movie/adventure, He's proven more reliable than not. This spot worked for me, in all the ways none of the previous JP trailer have...I love Spielbergs films, I just think he aproached the JP films with too much of a light touch, they always had this unnecessary 'gentleness', too preachy and P.C., never we're they what they should have movies, GIANT monster movies! I definately see a darker, grittier and more ferocious edge with this TV spot...these are dinosaurs that WILL eat your ass! Of course, this is just a TV spot (not even a trailer, though probably about the same footage), and only seeing the final film will we know (duh!). But they look too be off too a good start.

JP3 is going to be the surprise of the summer

    by arjaybee

Well, after the required 40% of you a$$h@!$ post your " sucks" crap ('cause you just can't help your tired selves), the rest of us true summer movie fan geeks will rejoyce in knowing that JP3 is now officially on the "must-see" list of the general populace (it was already at the top of my list with 'AI'). After the "Mummy Returns" crowd gets another look at this trailer, you will be looking at the biggest surprise of this summer! Who are these dolts that keep picking Pearl Harbor and the 'Planet/Apes' as the biggest movies this summer? It's gonna be a dogfight between JP3 & A.I. JP3 is like the Indy series...your ass is going to see it anyway! Just like Temple of Doom was a letdown, so was The Lost World in many people's eyes, but you couldn't help but see Indy 3 and most will do the same with JP3...and you know it! Just seeing Dr. Grant is enough to fuel the franchise. The trailer is great. I think JP3 is going to be the best of the Jurassic series.

    by NinjaAssassin69

NinjaAssassin69 here. Although I didn't watch Survivor today, I did, however view the Jurassic Park III trailer. I must admit I am impressed. However, I was under the impression this movie was to take place on Isla Sorna. The shot of the airplane flying over an island was the same area used for Isla Nublar in the first movie. Looking forward to seeing people fleeing from dinos, and perhaps seeing Tea Leoni get eaten. It kicks ass Sam Neill is back, William H. Macy is onboard, and Alessandro Nivola is also here. Let's hope they leave all the parasailing out of the movie. Anyway, looking forward to seeing this. (Wish Jeff Goldblum was in it too, but oh well) -NinjaAssassin69 Out

    OT, but...stay with me here...

    by Drive! Kowalski

I just clicked over to IGN FilmForce, and was presented with the latest scoops from...Thur 22nd March! It had the old design and everything. "Sigourney Weaver Discusses Alien 5" and "Pop Diva Houston Next Bond Girl?" Did my CPU just Hit 88mph? Will Marty hump his mother? All this -and more- on a very Wierd, Very special "Blossom".

  • May 3, 2001, 9:38 p.m. CST

I was perfectly ready to skip this one...

    by Dave_F

...but the trailer snagged me. You see them pterodactyls? Coooool! I just can't be appropriately critical with pteros flyin' around like that! Here's hoping we see some humans taking the offensive this time and kicking a little dino-ass. The cool hunter from the first movie got totally shortchanged, and Pete Postlethwaite was about the *only* cool thing in the sequel. Remember that scene in "Aliens" where Michael Biehn sticks a shotgun in an aliens mouth and blows it's head off with an enraged "Eat this!"? That's the kind of payback I'm looking for.

  • May 3, 2001, 9:45 p.m. CST

    Give it a chance

    by Lord_Aragorn

this movie looks like its going great fun to watch. ok we all hate the lost world, it did suck dino shit big time, but from the trailer this movie looks like its going to be a whole bucket of popcorn movie. With this, planet of the apes and lord of the rings its fan boys wet dream year (well until next year)

  • May 3, 2001, 10:16 p.m. CST

    looks better than i expected

    by kojiro

But with Sam Neil in it how could it not? Still dissapointed he wasn't in the second one.

    by Mr.Mean

Well no shit sherlock. Why the fuck did you go back!? "Oh gee, maybe the dinosaurs will be friendly this time!" I hope they all die very gory deaths just so they can learn their lesson. Hungry dinosaurs + extraneous characters = Gory Goodness.

  • May 4, 2001, 12:04 a.m. CST

Yup, YNEWAY, I thought of Tremors, too.

    by 855K Scoville

    by TheJediGecko

Oh yeah! Oh yeah! *does a little victory dance* Y'know ... I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS! I thought it might be good when I heard it was a Johnston film - this reassures me entirely. Count me in as already in line to see this!

  • May 4, 2001, 5:06 a.m. CST

Darker . . . the way it should be

    by Binky the Boober

I couldn't believe how dark the imagery was. This is gonna be a pretty good movie I think. Unless the story stinks, then it'll be pretty good eye candy.

  • May 4, 2001, 9:24 a.m. CST

This just looks like more of the same shit!

    by Batutta

Which is what I thought of the last book and movie. And the first movie, outside of a few outstanding sequences, wasn't even that good to begin with.

  • May 4, 2001, 11:12 a.m. CST

    by Captain Loft

Wow, and we only had to wait 8 years to get the real sequel to Jurassic Park. This looks like they took the original, doubled its scope and pumped it full of testosterone. The water sequence looks like it'll be worth the price of admission. The Spinosaur is cool but nothing beats the original T-Rex (though I noticed they tried to link the two- T-Rex trashed a car, Spino trashed a boat). The two had better have a Dino-sized Rumble in the Jungle (another thing worth the price of admission if done right). Anyone who isn't happy probably wouldn't have been happy no matter what they saw. Summer 2001 is looking really sweet right now.

    Rules of a Trilogy

    by Omega Wolf

Third Movie ... Forget the Rules. OK lame I admit. I like that SS is willing to sacrifice science for fun in these flicks, Lost World wouldn't have been the same without the Godzilla-esque trek through town with the t-rex. I just hope unlike Lost World that he doesn't sacrifice logic for fun. If this movie can at least make sense within its own rules these smart dinos could be fun. Later, enjoy life...

  • May 4, 2001, 11:59 a.m. CST

    by togmeister

Why the hell isn't this guy in this movie? He well and truly KICKED ASS in LW ("Are you setting up a base camp or a buffet?"), infact Roland Tembo is probably the closest Spielberg has ever gotten to recreating Quint. It's just symptomatic of Spielberg's disinterest in Lost World that he disappeared for no reason towards the end (imagine Raiders if Sallah had been discarded at the Well of Souls, or Saving Private Ryan with Corporal Upham left at the church). But never mind - the point is this: first you hire Pete Postlethwaite, THEN you go to Mrs. Mulder. OK?

  • May 4, 2001, 12:25 p.m. CST

    My ideal Jurassic Park sequel...

    by Kyle.Reese

takes place 57 years after the original. The island has been cleaned of dino life and is now occupied by a small colony. When contact with the colony is lost, an elite squad of soldiers are sent in, only to realise that the dinos are back... oh and Sam Neil has been in hibernation for the period so he's still around... Whatcha think? Original huh.

  • May 4, 2001, 3:38 p.m. CST

    On the trailer.....

    by jplover

I can see how some of you may be a little skeptical about jp3...being a little darker and all...but really now, I think part 3 is what the whole series was made for!!! ANYONE AGREE??

  • May 4, 2001, 4:03 p.m. CST

    It wasn't that bad!!!

    by jplover

I dont know ORIONSAINT...I mean yeah it was different...but i still think it was awesome!! i like it that they showed another side of the film!

  • May 4, 2001, 6:20 p.m. CST

    by gary2012

I've been a dinosaur freak since I was a very little kid, so seeing any photorealistic dinosaurs will be worth the price of admission, but I don't like what appears to be the idea of genetically engineered raptors, and I especially don't like the identifiable leader raptor with the spines on his head. That is just silly. If they wanted one to be identifiable why do it in such a cheesy way? At least fit it into the story, like by having it get wounded or something somewher obvious, so that you can recognize it later.

  • May 6, 2001, 6:40 a.m. CST

    impressive, but....

    by danoz

im not gonna be happy if the kid acts like a hero... hopefully his parents kept him out of the gynmastics team. if the film has any dignaty, n wants to be better than TLW then the kid has to be scared shitless throughout the entire flick... agree???
