WITCHIEPOO's Surprising X-FILES Tidbit!!

Published at:  May 01, 2001 9:14:52 PM CDT

SPOILER ALERT !!

I am –

Hercules!!

This one caught me a bit off guard, but I have no reason to doubt it. Here’s WITCHIEPOO with a likely major spoiler on the Mulder-Doggett Goodtime Hour!

I don't know if you already have this one, but I got a plot tidbit from an X-Files cast member.

It seems that Absalom (one of my favorite characters!), who took a bullet in the head while trying to sneak Mulder into the census records data room wasn't really Absalom... it was actually Jeremiah the alien shapeshifter and Absalom is going to be back in future episodes.

If you use this, please call me Witchiepoo...

    The Oy!-Files...

    by atomoprime

I love this show, I really do... But after eight years of shell games, loose plot points and the end of the season (and possibly the series!) coming up could they please wrap things up! They could finally tie the whole conspiracy threads together and make some fans happy. Then, give us a new storyline that would be unique to Scully and Doggett. This show is suffering from 'Voyager' syndrome big-time.

    Perfect Series finale here

    by yneway

Seeing that the show loves to throw it in our face that if we see something its probably not true, I think it should end with Bob Newhart waking up and revealing the whole thing was another of his sick twisted dreams.

He would rule on x-files, he is an alien after all. Maybe Fox could help him find his girlfriend!

    but what about....

    by moeslf

Ok, Aliens...green blood. Doggett and window splattered with red blood. No burning of the eyes, no crippling effects for Doggett. Are we saying shape shifters can change their blood? I don't think so...

    Hinting?

    by majorq007

1013 is practically screaming at us that scully's baby is an alein, what with the episode with the fake utra-sound and the previews that show scully is birthing an alien baby.
    oh, and SPOILER:

krychek dies in the season finale.

    The Easy Thing to Do...

    by orange bat

To get rid of Mulder, the easy thing to do is say he was never returned by the aliens, and the Mulder that returned this season is actually an "advanced" alien shapeshifter, or even an alien clone. In true X-Files fashion, they could leave the whole "Mulder-gets-abducted" story completely open with no resolution. Hey, then Mulder can always come back!! But, hey, I have a love-hate relationship with this show. I want to see it continue for a long time. What I don't understand is that since the alien invaders seem to have everything on us, why don't they just attack now? From what I've seen on this show, they would kick our asses!! Whatever, I hope they just keep the show around because it's still better than almost ANYTHING on television today.

    Scully's baby and other thoughts

    by princessflavia

I've been thinking that Scully's baby is NOT an alien, just because we've been so lead to believe that it is. Plus, Scully already had an alien baby (the little girl, Emily). The poor tortured woman--cancer, sister murdered, ova stolen...isn't she entitled to a little happiness? Oh, and there is no show without Mulder. I like Doggett, but the show is about Mulder's quest. I was never satisfied with the "explanation" of what happened to Samantha--what a letdown. Chris Carter should have waited until the final episode and reunited Mulder and his sister, instead of the lame resolution we were given.

    Finale death

    by ciggy

I don't believe this either - As was stated, there wasn't any toxic green goo...In any case, bullets won't stop colonists unless they get hit in the same spot in the neck that they get killed by that funky silver spike. Wouldn't rule out Smith coming back though - I always found it funny how in 'This is Not Happening' Scully is responsible for all the crap that happens in 'DeadAlive', et al since if she's stayed out of it, Smith would have got to Mulder, healed him to stop him becoming an alien, and sent him back like all the others. But no, Scully has to blunder in there with the others, blow his cover, and then scream when he has to go on the run from the Colonists.
Anyway, onto the finale (SPOILERS) and why people are finding it surprising that Krycek dies. I mean, after he stuck those nanobots in Skinner, its pretty damn obvious that the only way Skinner can get free is to take out Krycek. What I want to know is why Ratboy's motives keep changing the whole time. First he wants Scully's baby dead, then in the finale he helps her escape Miles, then at some point he wants to kill Mulder! Whats the deal?? And when the HELL are they going to show us what happened to CSM???????

    NOoooo... That WAS Absalom!

    by wydok

Because Jerimiah Smith is a alien hybrid, if was shot in the middle of the head he would spew green toxic alien blood. Absalom bled regular blood Absalom did when you got cacked. That was most definetly Absalom. I don't know where Witchiepoo got her information, but it wasn't from someone from the show.

They resolved the 'Samantha' storyline? When?

    by blabbermouse

I thought that was Mulder's Holy Grail - that the ultimate payoff of the series would be Mulder rescuing his sister or at least learning the 'real' story. But I bailed out about 3 years ago - like so many other folks I just got plain ol' tired of red herrings & 2 part episodes that wound up going nowhere & resolving nothing. I think X-Files 'jump the shark' moment (named for the website that tracks the moment when a series starts going downhill - named for the 'Happy Days' episode where Fonzie did just that) was the 'Fight the Future' movie. That was the perfect oppty for Carter & co. to take the show to the next level, but instead they just rehashed a typical 'mythology' episode with a feature film budget.-----Anyhoo, somebody point me in the right direction for a quick recap on the Samantha situation. Thanx!

    It's pretty funny isn't it...

    by witchiepoo

... that people don't seem to want to believe me when I have spoken directly to the cast member myself and they haven't. YES, I got this spoiler directly from the lips of a cast member, one involved in that plotline in particular, so I have no reason to doubt it. I guess we'll see who's right later, eh?

It's true. I heard it straight from the horses mouth...

    by tbrosz

April 20. Wondercon Oakland Comic Book convention. Judson Scott sitting at autograph table. Little sign on table said "Absalom" with a little Post-It that said "Not Dead!" I said "you're looking pretty good for a guy who took a round to the forehead." He told me, without going into any details at all, that he (Absalom) would be back next season. Take that for what it's worth. Maybe he was pulling our chains. If I had known that this was some kind of great news, I could have posted it here a week ago. Also at the convention: Julie "Catwoman" Newmar--classy lady! Gary "Radar" Burghoff, showing off a new talent as a skilled wildlife painter(!) and a load of Playboy bunnies.

I don't know why "Witchiepoo" was being so coy about the source...no one was acting like it was supposed to be a big secret. Odds are she was at the same convention I was at.

Well, I hate to break it to ya, Witchie...

    by agentm6453

But the only way your ever-so-arrogantly defended piece of info could be correct is if Carter and Co. have *completely* lost any storytelling sense they had left in their heads...Likely, sure, but I don't see it happening.

You see, like someone else said, Jerimiah Smith is an ALIEN (not a hybrid, though, for the record), so if he were to get shot in the head, not only would he survive, but he would bleed green blood, not red. Again, the only way your info could be true is if Carter chooses to ignore something that's been shown to us many, many times over the years...I have a strong feeling, my dear, that you'll be eating that attitude with ketchup come the finale.

Feel free to pop the asshole that told you that, though...Especially if it was one of the writers! ;-)

    loose ends

    by princessflavia

To whoever was asking about what happened to Emily (Scully's alien-hybrid daughter): she died in the hospital of some sort of illness; apparently she was an "imperfect" hybrid. I do agree, though, that we need closure for at least some of figures in the conspiracy. We all know that Cigarette Smoking Man can't be dead, so where is he? I really miss him. And where is the blonde woman who was the Deep Throat/Mr. X figure for awhile (the one that was in cahoots with Krycek)? Did she die? And yet they keep bringing on random new characters, like this new Agent Reyes?!?! Yeah, I guess the show has jumped the ol' shark. I've watched since the beginning of Season 2, though, so I feel that I have to follow it to the end--however disappointing it may be.

    Clarifications

    by witchiepoo

I may have gotten the details about it being Jeramiah that was killed mixed up a little, I don't know -- I was having trouble hearing the person but I could swear that's what I heard him say, and my husband heard the same thing. (shrug) The one thing I am absolutely positive about is that Absalom will be back in future episodes. No, I was not at the convention, I heard it elsewhere. But that's a pretty damn funny sign! I wish I'd seen it... glad to know that one of my favorite actors has such a great sense of humor.

Actually isn't Samantha a light child now?

    by holidill

I stopped watching the show around the point where they were going to reveal what happened to Samantha. Something to do with Light CHildren, and Santa Claus at the North Pole? No I'm not joking, I remember something like that. The whole serial killer story was just a tease, the killer did not kill Samantha, but wanted to Fuck with Mulder's head and make him believe he had killed her. I think she was some kind of light child. Help?

    The End

    by ex-xfilesfan

Scully's kid will be normal. She'll quit the FBI to raise it, possibly with Mulder.
The show will continue next season with Dogget and Reyes. They'll have a couple of Scully guest appearances. Mulder will be in a few episodes too if Duchovny's movie (Evolution) tanks, which it probably will.

Instead of giving the fans the grand finale we deserve, Chris Carter will beat the show into the ground for a couple more season. Fox will end up cancelling it, and we'll never get another feature film or the story wrapup we want.

    What REALLY happened to Samantha

    by t

OK, Samantha was abducted (at some point along the line) and held by CSM and his cronies, but escaped. Then the serial killer got to Samantha, and was GOING to torture and kill her, but in an act of God, she was spared that, and turned into starlight. Man, it sounds totally stupid, but I loved that episode. That was the last episode I really loved, btw, and by that point, I was beginning to hate most of them.
