Artisan Entertainment, Ain't It Cool News, the Austin Film Society and the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema present the Austin premiere of
MADE

Writer-director-star Jon Favreau will be in attendance Friday, May 4th, 2001 at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema for two special screenings of his directorial debut, MADE:

7:30 PM SCREENING & PARTY ($25): introduced by Harry Knowles, followed by Q&A with Jon Favreau and a private party

10:00 PM SCREENING ($10): introduced by Jon Favreau

Tickets are on sale beginning Friday, March 27th at noon, at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema box office, 409 Colorado Street. (NOTE: Seating is extremely limited, and we expect both screenings to sell out.)

Scheduled to be released in Austin on July 27th, MADE features SWINGERS "money" buddies Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn, who re-team as lifelong friends. Bobby (Favreau) is an aspiring boxer who refuses to abandon his dreams, despite the urgings of his friend Ricky (Vaughn) to pursue a higher position in the organization of old-time mob boss Max (Peter Falk). When Max gives the two friends the opportunity to do a job for him in New York, Ricky takes it as a sign that they're moving up in the world - and in his own inimitable fashion, he makes sure everyone in Manhattan knows it. MADE also stars Famke Janssen (X-MEN), Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, Faizon Love (THE REPLACEMENTS) and Vincent Pastore ("The Sopranos").

Proceeds to benefit the Austin Film Society and the Saturday Morning Film Club.

And then there is....

Favreau is so money and he don't even know it.

Can't wait to see Made. It looks like the bomb. Which one wrote "If Chins Could Kill?" Favreau or Campbell. Hm.... interesting connection. It's part of the Alamo Drafthouse Chin-licious Screening Series.

    I Miss the Alamo

    by josephhowell

I lived in Austin for awhile, and used to go to the Alamo to fritter away my stock options after I (temporarily) bailed from the videogame industry. I live in NYC now and while our screens are bigger and our sound systems better, nothing, nothing, nothing approaches the cinematic joy of the Alamo. O to be served by hunchbacked college kids! O to knock back bear from a mug in a movie theatre! And by the way Bruce Campbell rocks! Why doesn't he ever get some big Arnie roles! He was my pick for Peter Parker.

    Finally

    by aaronhayden

This is the first I heard of a number that non-locals could call to get tickets. Before, I thought Harry wasn't interested in having us out-of-towners come to his stuff. Too late now, oh well. Still, it's plenty early for Bruce Campbell Day. I think that's what it should be called. We could have a holiday from work and all go down to Texas to celebrate the newest national holiday. I've been looking forward to his book for a long time now.

Made, the sleeping giant of the Summer

    by cabron

If one tenth of the people who own the Swingers DVD show up to see this thing, Artisan's got another Blair Witch Project. I just hope there are no new annoying fucking catch phrases. If there are, I'M gonna beat Vince's ass in a bar brawl.
