New JURASSIC PARK 3 Pic!

Published at:  Apr 22, 2001 8:17:08 PM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here... back from a special covert mission that took me 11,000 miles in a 65 hour odyssey to see a movie that isn't yet on many people's radar... stress the word YET.... However, I return to see this new photo from JURASSIC PARK 3 in my email box and so... I must share... I've talked with some folks at Universal about the film and they feel that Joe Johnston has taken the series into a new direction, that the film is really quite scary and is more intense than the JP films of the past.... Personally... I'm there with bells on. I have to say that I'm really rooting for Johnston to blow us all away... I'm hoping... here ya go...

hi Harry

I've read the site for ages, and been wanted to do some contribution for a while. Well, since no once else seems to have picked up on this one, I thought I'd try and have a go.

Enclosed is a new picture from the pages of Entertainment Weekly. This is the first decent look at one of the slightly redesigned Veloraptors from JP3. Can't actually tell whether its CGI or Animatronic, so I guess we'll have to see the bugger in motion to tell.

All I can say is, COOL!

regards

Terribly Mauled

    A Quick Thought.

    by grimace

I know that most people are looking forward to either Planet of tthe Aoes, or JP3. So, Hhollywood, here's your chance to be the hero this summer. If you could just combine the two films, you would have the film to end all films (or something to run on HBO12 at 3:00 a.m. on a tuesday night). Imagine, if you can, I know that can be difficult for some of you, this "wacky, high-concept" premise. Marky Mark, crashes onto site B, he had been flying with John Travolta, when suddenly all the guilt from making the worst film in history finally gets to him, and he commits suicide, and despite Marky Mark losing the entire Funky Bunch in the crash, he quickly discovers that Dinosaurs are truly real. All the while, the Ingen Corporation, giving up on the dinosaurs, invests all it's effort into creating Site C, Monkey Park. Yes, that's right! The public has been clamoring for a park full of talking monkeys, and their heeding the call. God Bless 'em! The CEO, Charlton Heston, meanwhile, wants nothing to do with those DAMN DIRTY APES, and mayhem ensues! Dinosaur vs, monkey, Monkey vs, dinosaur. The greatest battle ever filmed. It'll have everything! You want it? You got it! Talking Monkeys? OH Yeah! Angry dino's? OH, HEll YEAH! Marky Mark? Well yes, but Heston shoots him in his boxer shorts when he mistakes Marky for a Damn Dirty Hippie, so it's all good! I want a consulting credit on this, you hear me Hollywood. I'll be sitting in the driveway by the mailbox, waiting for that check. NOTHING, AND I MEAN NOTHING, WILL EVER STOP THE GRIMACE!!!!

  • I wasn't too hyped about 'Final Fantasy', a film which is based on a series of video games that I can't stand, but I just saw twenty minutes of exclusive footage at the Los Angeles Sci-Fi Convention... SWEET JESUS!! This movie looks incredible! I hear people complain about how the look of the characters doesn't live up to the hype of "photo-realism"... but so what? This is an animated movie with some great, and I do mean GREAT, action sequences! I was sitting in the audience just staring up at the screen with this silly geekboy grin on my face. Some of the character's movements are the most human and fluid movements in any animated film EVER! The movie plays like a cross between 'The Fifth Element' and an animated version of James Cameron's ALIENS... but different in it's approach to science fiction. Seriously, leave the dinosaurs alone this summer and check out something really COOL!

    I hate to say this

    by kyle.reese

but I reckon of all the summer blockbusters this will fare worst. I'm a huge John Johnston fan (adored The Rocketeer) but there is just too much competition for JP3 to blossom... It's still looking good though. That story scoop a while back is an interesting premise.

    We're back in the car

    by kinekor

I saw the same Final Fantasy footage the guy in the previos post saw,and it is TRUELY AMAZING.I thought JP 2 was better than JP 1.I just hope that this installment can be the scariest one yet.I think the marketing boys have to kick whatever plans they have into motion, because i haven't seen that much stuff on JP 3 which could potentially be in the top 3 movies of the summer.

i find it kind of strange....

    by bcoming

that people are saying "we saw that shot in the first movie"....and? we never hear anyone say "oh i saw him kill some guy with a knife in halloween 1, friday the 13th 1, scream 1, whatever fucking slasher film". no one ever says that about the 13th sequel to a slasher film, yet they are almost identical in the shots we see. micheal myers standing there looking at people creepy like "oooooh that is so cool" "hey that is cool how they are referencing the first film there" that is what they say!! not "oh that is such a rip off this film blows". so what is the difference?

A dark and frightening Jurassic Park? ACE!

    by darthnagus

I really hope this is much darker and more frightening than the previous two. I loved both of them but this time I want something much more serious.

    All Hail CARNOSAUR!!

    by jarek

The one good thing about JP3 is that there is going to be another Carnosaur sequel made (how could there not be, all the others were made to cash in on the JP franchise). I can't wait.... hehe.... just kidding. Anyway, JP3 could be cool, as long as it's darker and more violent than the first two.

    Dinosaur wars

    by garthekra

Fortunately, SOMEBODY knows that velociraptor was fully covered with feathers like a bird. There is a new novel by Thomas P. Hopp, Dinosaur Wars, in which veloci's larger cousin, megaraptor makes an appearance, clad in eagle-like feathers. Can't wait for that movie! If you want dino variety, it's got pachyrhinosaurs, parasaurolophus, antelope-like thescelosaurs, and a sheeplike thing called stygimoloch. Great young heroes too!

    It looks pretty cool

    by sith warrior

The pic looks pretty cool. I'll be seeing it regardless of the reviews. I loved the first one, and the second one was ok (though I thought the book was MUCH better). It's got dinos and people being munched, what more do we seek in life? Erm...ok, forget that. And koomo, since there is nothing to look forward to this summer, why are you reading posts on the crappy JP3. Indeed, why do you visit this site at all, it seems that you don't have any interest in the films this site covers regularly. Don't take offense, I'm just asking a question.

    The raptors aren't bullet proof.

    by noell

I hope that THIS time they won't insult the viewers intelligence by pretending that guns can't stop a raptor.Let the humans defend themselves.

    Velociraptor, Version 5.5

    by metatron

    >

I understand what you are saying, and agree to some extent, but this IS a series about genetic engineering. They can "redesign" these animals as much as they want to be more "attractive" to tourists. The theme park IS a money-making scheme... and they will make the raptors "cooler" if it means more profit. Of course, I don't know the plot of this film... if the dinos have been running wild on the island for about 6-10 years, maybe they are suffering a side-effect of genetic tampering, a kind of "degredation", or another equally-as-cheesy explanation. Because we are dealing with the mystery of cloning, Hollywood can basically justify anything to the average viewer.

  • And is always better to have a good artisan than a genius uninterested in the picture itself. Spielberg doesn't want to do it, so let's hope Johnston made a good job. By the way, right now a public TV channel here in Spain is airing "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre", and last week, a private channel aired "The Idiots" with it hardcore explicit orgy scene... at 10 A.M! Isn't it great to live in Spain? Where else can you find cult arthouse porn in the morning, allowing children to see it in all its glory?

    Hell Yeah!

    by nutzacio

Jurassic Park 3.............what the hell can i say but.......................................I'm so there! Normally I would say sequals suck ass, but look at Rocky 4, austin powers 2, all the Indiana Jones movies. Sequals normally suck, but not Jurassic Park. Ok, two stunk a little compared to 1, but we were expectin way to much. Let's hope three makes up for it.
