New GINGER SNAPS Trailer & An LA Screening Tomorrow!!

Published at:  Apr 20, 2001 9:55:31 PM CDT

Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.

Any fool with five minutes and access to our search engine can tell you how well-liked GINGER SNAPS was by the AICN gang when it played the South By Southwest Festival in Austin recently. I haven't seen the film yet, but I did take a look at the new trailer for the film over at Movie-list.com last night. It's pretty spiffy, and I'm definitely curious. Then I got a note from Borys "The Spyder" who clued me in to the fact that the film is playing in LA on Saturday, April 20th as part of a Horror Showcase, complete with Q&A afterwards. If any of you are able to make it to the screening and stay for the Q&A, let us know what you think!!

"Moriarty" out.

    On Video??

    by biatch-wk

The other day i was looking through the new releases section of the local video store... and spotted Ginger Snaps. Which surprised me considering here in new zealand we usually get films late. Traffic started the other week, Hannibal last week, castaway last month. And yet we've got a (us) indie film in videoshops (this video shop was equivllent to blockbuster, nothing special). I was goning to get it out, but alas, i'm not 18 yet.... *sigh*

Could you be more specific about where in the gigantic Southern California area you are referring? It isn't listed on moviefone.

    "How do you feel?"

    by labrat

"Wicked." WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!! The confident stride of an empowered teenage slut... Ripping a guy apart when all he wanted was a little pooch... The geeky, introverted sister... The oucasts...blahblahblah. VERY cliche. Howver if this movie has intense graphic violence I MIGHT be willing to overlook the cliche shit. The dog that was ripped to shreds was good...if there's plenty more where that came from I might plunk down some coin to see Ginger Snap...oh how witty. BTW: Moriarty's a bitchboy for not posting WHERE the freaking movie was showing in L.A.

    Ginger Snaps: pros and cons

    by human tornado

This movie just came out on video here in Brazil. Pretty good, 80's werewolf movie. The sisters are very fine actresses, dead puppies are very convincing... all in all, nice and fun. The movie is canadian, I believe, so there's funny accent all around - "oot" and "aboot". The creature itself sucks, though. Pretty crappy FX work, here. The photo essay the sisters make - about the many deaths they kinda dream of having - looks cool and much more convincing.

    Ginger Snaps in UK

    by brendon

Anybody after Ginger Snaps in the UK? It'll be screening in Oxford, at the Ultimate Picture Palace, in early June. For two weeks! For more details, e-mail s.marham@virgin.net, that is the cinema e-mail, and they will get back to you, or put you on their mailing list, as they did me.
