Harry's Coming To New York & Giving Away 10 TIX to the AKIRA 2001 World Premiere & Party!
Hey folks, Harry here... This coming week I turn into Travel Boy as I go out to L.A. to do the Politically Incorrect Oscar Special... return back to Austin briefly and then fly off to New York for the World Premiere of this brand spankin' new Digital print of AKIRA with super duper sound and image enhancement and a new (allegedly wonderful) dub that is supposed to be just the balls' delight.
I'm supposed to introduce the brilliant man at Pioneer that thought up fixing up AKIRA and getting it back into theaters and on an excellent DVD for all of us, and then I'm getting in my seat to watch this baby, so I figured I'd ask to see if I could get some of you good folks into the screening with me. That sound good?
Cool...
I managed to get TEN extra tickets for the premiere, which takes place next Thursday, March 29th, at the AMC EMPIRE 25 (234 W. 42nd Street) followed by a party afterwards at the Broadway City Arcade for food, drinks and all the free games you can play!
All the free video games you can play and a digital screening of the world premiere restored print of AKIRA? Yup, ten of you will get this dream. How?
Well, I could make you do something truly pathetic like send naked pictures of yourself and some sort of fruit or vegetable, but I figured I'd take it easy on ya. To win your tickets here's what ya gotta do...
First you have to be able to be at the NYC AMC EMPIRE 25 on Thursday, March 29th, 2001... a week from today.
Second, you must write why you deserve to go by yourself without your friends to this premiere and why you will be behaved and cool and not a spaz.
Third, I am able to be bribed by amazingly stunning good looks and batting eyelashes.
Send your begging writings, your photos, your warped violent anime fantasies and such to: Harry@AintItCool.Com Now!
I will decide in 3 days who the lucky babes and/or bastards are. The winning entries will be made available for your perusal when all is said and done, but the names of the sinners will be protected lest the authorities do their jobs.
This AKIRA print is: a new film transfer from a new Interpositive of the Original Negative. Completely restored and digitally re-mastered using High-Definition digital mastering (1080i, 16:9, D5). THX Certified. Audio Components will be re-mixed to Dolby Digital AC3 Surround Sound (5.1 Channels, English Only)... and a NEW English Dub created from a NEW translation of the original Japanese Akira Script!
Now let the groveling begin!!!
