Casting Bits on new TIME MACHINE movie!

Published at:  Feb 26, 2001 1:47:07 AM CST

Hey folks, I have a pair of news bits regarding THE TIME MACHINE for you today. First from ShowBizIreland.Com dropped us a line about the screentesting of first time actor and little brother of Samantha Mumba as a character in THE TIME MACHINE... Now at first this might seem odd to you folks, but in this version of THE TIME MACHINE, Mumba will be playing the future girl that the Time Traveler falls for.... She has a son and her mate had already been taken by the morlocks. So that's why they are testing him to see if he has the potential to fit that role. Here's the scoop...

The big news of the day was that Omero Mumba, the 11 year old baby
brother of Irish pop princess Samantha Mumba was on his way to be
screen tested for Stephen Spielberg's new movie the Time Machine. If
Omero is successful he will be acting with his sister who has already
won a role in the movie and will star opposite Guy Pearse and Jeremy
Irons.

Hey folks, now on with the second part of the TIME MACHINE casting news... Apparently Alan "Only what three books would you take" Young has a cameo in the new film, which makes me wonder if Rod Taylor and Yvette Mimieux will also do cameos. That would be pretty sweet. Hmm... Now if only they did a cameo with Wah Chang!

On Feb 6, I had an interview with Alan Young who was Dr Filby in the George Pal 1960 "Time Machine" film (but known mostly as Wilbur on the Mister Ed TV series). He will be making a cameo appearance in the new Guy Pearce "Time Machine" movie. Not sure who he is playing, but he is in his 80's now and looking and sounding great.

Nothing major, cool though. later

Rod Taylor was so great in this movie!

    by troublemaker2000

I don't think Guy Pearce can hold a candle to Rod at all. But Harry didn't you already report this casting news? Or did I read it in Elston's weekly recap on Saturday? I know I read it somewhere. But the pics are nice!

A word about Nicholas Meyer, Malcolm MacDowell and "Time after T

    by troublemaker2000

Now that was a wonderful time travel movie, so smart and so inventive. If you've never seen it I strongly urge you to go to your video store and rent it because it's just great. David Warner plays Jack the Ripper who uses H.G. Wells's time machine to escape from old London into the future where he winds up in San Francisco and Malcolm as Wells has no choice but to follow him into the future to capture him. It is just brilliant and the scene in the MacDonalds is quite possibly the single funniest scene I've ever seen. Laugh out loud funny with Wells trying to figure out just what the hell to order. He winds up ordering french fries and marvels over the formica table he sits at. It's hysterically funny. A great movie!

    I Agree With Veers

we need some good some good ol fashioned involuntary euthanasia!
we should obliterate the whole Mumba line before it spreads onto the big screen and into wacko jacko part 2 AKA looney omero!
she can't sing, she can't dance, she most likely can't act as she obviously cannot think!!!
she also said in one interview that the book was written by orson welles!!!!
who fucking cares if she has fat lips and a pulse! let's remove both of those and the world will be a better place!!
next thing you know we will be seeing destiny child's starring in the brand new "re-imagination" of psycho!! of course they wouldn't take a shower cause that just ain't so relaxing as a bath girlfriend and when norman comes into attack they won't get killed of course because they are independent empowered women and they'll wiggle their butts all over poor norman until he keels over and dies from a brain embolism!
ok, sorry, got carried away again, sorry everybody, sorry, but really, musicians shouldn't be allowed to act unless a) they really can sing and write their own songs b) they are singing in the film while kinda taking the piss out of themselves c) they didn't become famous through breast jobs/wiggling arses/fat lips/g strings/tight anything! you'd think that the actors guild would go on strike because of somethng like all these rappers stealing their parts, now that is something to strike over!
that's what a real union would do!

never even heard of this woman, but if you're gonna star in the goddamn movie, than read the goddamn book. shit, you don't even have to buy it, you could get it at the library. actually, you don't even have to read it--just having it in your posession for a limited amount of time should be enough to guarantee someone with even a room temp iq of being able to distinguish between wells the british author and welles the american director. blockhead. i bet she writes her own songs, too--she'll be great, guys.
