George Miller to return with THREE THOUSAND YEARS OF LONGING! UPDATED with casting news!

THR reports that filmmaker George Miller is currently prepping his next project.

The 73-year-old mastermind behind such film series as MAD MAX, HAPPY FEET, and BABE will be looking for buyers at the American Film Market, which occurs next week, for his new film THREE THOUSAND YEARS OF LONGING.

The film, which Miller wrote and plans to direct is described as an 'epic love story' involving a magical genie. The tone of the film has also been said to be completely different than the director's last work 2015's MAD MAX: FURY ROAD.

The idea that the tone is so different from his last film is not really surprising as anyone who knows Miller's filmography knows he likes to play in diverse genres and the results are always interesting.

What do you guys think? Excited to see George back at it again? Disappointed that he's not immediately working on a follow-up to FURY ROAD? Let us know in the comments!

UPDATE: We now have some casting news from Deadline! It looks like Idris Elba (LUTHER) and Tilda Swinton (DR. STRANGE) have joined the cast of the film. There is no word yet on what their roles will entail Though.
