Trailer for "Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer" Currently in Theaters Opened Today in the USA!

 Hola Dannie aqui,

Today it was brought to my attention by some talk-backers that we have not covered "GOSNELL: The Trail of America's Biggest Serial Killer." The film opened today and was completely crowd-funded due to its extremely controversial nature.

One of the talk-backers by the handle "Doug Kenny" had this to say about the film "Today, "Gosnell: America's Biggest Serial Killer" opened on 700 screens. It is everything AIC likes to support - crowdfunded because no studio would touch the controversial subject; a passionate discussion of one of today's hot topics, and had to fight lawsuits to be released. And yet, it's ignored, while a cheap, Hungarian superhero movie is lavishly praised."

I do not know how we missed this film especially as I have a keen interest in serial killers and film. Another talk-backer suggested that we were paid to talk about "Captain Flame." Let me make this perfectly clear we do not make a single cent by way of paid content. AICN functions financially from money acquired from advertisers. I believe it would be unethical for any film critic to be paid to write about a film by the filmmakers, studios, or producers. This site above all is a labor in the love of cinema and pop culture. We do not worship the almighty dollar we worship film and coolness across several spectrums.

Here is the trailer for "GOSNELL: The Trail of America's Biggest Serial Killer."

The website www.gosnellmovie.com describes the film as-

Synopsis

"The film is the shocking true story of the investigation and trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell - his 30-year killing spree and the political and media establishment that tried to cover it up. Originally investigated for illegal prescription drug sales, a raid by DEA, FBI & local law enforcement revealed crimes they could not have expected within the clinic."

"Based on the NY Times Bestseller — Gosnell: The Untold Story of America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer."

Crowdfunding

"Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer was one of the most successfully crowdfunded films in history. It was an amazing experience for us."

"Almost 30,000 people donated over $2.3m in 45 days. When it ended, it was the most successful crowdfunding campaign on the Indiegogo website. We want to thank all of our funders who helped make this project such a success. We literally could not have done it without you. This is your movie."

Story

"The movie is based on The New York Times best-selling book Gosnell: The Untold Story of America's Most Prolific Serial Killer written by producers Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer. The book became especially controversial when The New York Times initially refused to feature it on its bestsellers list despite sales figures that revealed it should be on the list."

"The New York Times admitted they adjust the list as an "editorial decision"."
