Hey folks... here's some news from Deadline Hollywood from the Toronto International Film Festival: Rian Johnson (BRICK, STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI) is set to direct Daniel Craig (LAYER CAKE... and some spy thing) in KNIVES OUT, which is moving ahead quickly from Johnson's own script. Johnson and his producing partner Ram Bergman swooped in on Craig following news of the small window of delay in the next 007 film, and made him an offer that he thankfully didn't refuse.
KNIVES OUT sounds like Johnson's return to a detective story in the vein of BRICK: a modern noir murder-mystery piece. I'm looking forward to seeing Johnson in his best element again. And the idea of Daniel Craig playing a Sam Spade-esque modern detective thrills me. Can't wait to see more about this as the story progresses!
