Freddy Beans here with awesome news on Mr. David Cronenberg. Beyond Fest is going to honor one of our greats in CRONENBERG WITH CRONENBERG: A RESTROSPECTIVE OF THE NEW FLESH.
The 13 film celebration, of one of the great directors of our time, will be held at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles for the first nine films, followed by four shown at the Aero Theatre.. Cronenberg will be in attendance at the Egyptian for three of the special-event screenings, joined by guests Debbie Harry, Howard Shore, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Geena Davis.
Sept. 29th - An all-day marathon titles “The Shaping of Rage” begins which includes his early films SHIVERS, RABID, THE BROOD, and SCANNERS on 35mm no less. Howard Shore will join Cronenberg for a Q & A after the 30th anniversary screening of DEAD RINGERS

Sept. 30th – Cronenberg will take a Q & A alongside Geena Davis and Howard Shore, after the double bill of NAKED LUNCH and THE FLY.
Oct. 1st - Cronenberg again will take a Q & A with Howard Shore, Debbie Harry, and Jennifer Jason Leigh after showing VIDEODROME and EXISTENZ in a double bill.
There will be two double bills at the Aero Theatre. A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE & EASTERN PROMISES along with CRASH & SPIDER. All films showcased at this celebration will be on 35mm film.
Artist Alan Hynes has created an exclusive print for the event. Mondo also has created a series of Cronenberg-related products that will only be available at this festival.
Tickets for CRONENBERG WITH CRONENBERG: A RETROSPECTIVE OF THE NEW FLESH (thank god for copy and paste) are available at 10AM Saturday, September 1st via Fandango & the American Cinematheque.

Though I’m a bit sad there’s no mention of Dr. Philip K. Decker, still one of the baddest evil men committed to film if you ask me.
