Holy Sci-Fi Awesomeness!!! A Time Lord is Cast in "Star Wars: Episode IX"

Hola Dannie aqui,

Today the folks at Variety.com broke the news that Dr. Who's Matt Smith has been cast in "Star Wars: Episode IX!" Matt Smith is joining Star War's veterans Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Billy Dee Williams (returning as Lando Calrissian), Mark Hamill (returning as Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), and the late Carrie Fisher will be returning as Leia Organa via unreleased footage. Smith will be alongside Star Wars virgins Keri Russell, Richard E. Grant,  Naomi Ackie, and Dominic Monaghan. It has yet to be announced which side of the force Smith will be landing on, Sith, rebel scum, Jedi, Wookie, smuggling scoundrel, scruffy nerf herder, droid? Who knows? Well, I suppose the cast and crew that are currently filming in the U.K. know, but are keeping their lips sealed as of now!

Matt Smith started his career dominating British television starting back in 2006 in the TV movie "Sally Lockhart Mysteries: The Ruby in the Smoke," which led to "Masterpiece Classic," "Party Animals," "Moses Jones," then in 2010 Smith landed the role of Dr. Who and inherited a sci-fi cult following. The Time Lord's success led Smith to star in "Terminator Genisys," "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies," "Mapplethorpe," "Patient Zero," and Netflix's "The Crown." Smith is going to be premiering the film "Charlie Says," (he plays cult leader/pimp/musician/killer Charles Manson) at the Venice Film Festival this Sunday and now Smith has earned a place in our favorite galaxy far, far away...

How do all of you out there in Geeklandia feel about Dr. Who invading Star Wars? I love Smith's work and can not wait to find out more about his role, and I wonder what his midi-chlorian levels are! It is also worth stating that the last Doctor Who in STAR WARS was Grand Moff Tarkin, Peter Cushing.

Stay Strong, Live Good, Love Movies!
