"Scary Stories to Tell In The Dark" Casting News!

Hola Dannie aqui,

Today news broke at Deadline.com that the "Scary Stories to Tell In The Dark" project has announced some additional cast members that will be joining Zoe Colletti ("Annie," "Nerd Herd," and TV's "Rubicon") on director André Øvredal's ("The Autopsy of Jane Doe," "Trollhunters," and "Future Murder") film. Joining Zoe are Michael Garza ("The Hunger Games: Mockingjay," "Wayward Pines," and "Timeless"), Natalie Ganzhorn ("Wet Bum," "Make it Pop," and "The Stanley Dynamic"), Gabriel Rush ( "The Grand Budapest Hotel," "Moonrise Kingdom," and "Little Boxes"), Austin Zajur ("Kidding," "Fist Fight," and "A Haunting") and Austin Abrams ("The Americans," "Brad's Status," and "The Walking Dead").

“We spent months searching for and assembling the perfect group of actors to help us realize the most terrifying adaptation that we could conceive,”-- said director André Øvredal.

“I am honored to support Andre’s vision and, with our partners, to bring the incredible world of Scary Stories to the screen.” -- said screenwriter and producing badass Guillermo del Toro. Guillermo is a massive fan of "Scary Stories to Tell In The Dark" and has bragged about owning ten pieces of Stephen Gammell's original artwork from the books.

Here are some pictures of the current youngsters cast for the film.

The challenge of writing the script for Schwartz’s "Scary Stories to Tell In The Dark" has fallen into the competent hands of Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman combined with the masterminds behind "The Shape of Water" writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. This news just brings a smile to my face, hopefully, this project will be as cool as all of us have been imagining it could be.

Well, what do all of you out there in Geeklandia think of the casting news? I am excited.

Stay Strong, Live Good, Love Movies!
