IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA last night, through it's Twitter page, released a promotional image and video promoting the shows upcoming 13th season. With last night being Friday the 13th and this being their 13th season, it only makes sense to have a little horror film imagery thrown in there. Let's take a look at the promo image.
I like it! Does this image confirm that series co-creator Glenn Howerton (THE STRANGERS) will be back for the new season? His NBC sitcom, A.P. Bio, with Patton Oswalt (AGENTS OF SHIELD) has been renewed for a second season so his involvement has been up in the air and the subject of much fan speculation. That certainly looks like Howerton in the background of the image and considering his character once described himself as a "golden god", it fits. Let's look closer:
That could definitely be him but obviously, the creators of the show want a little mystery around that leading up to the season premiere in September. Knowing how they include Danny Devito in their shooting schedule for a limited number of days leads me to believe that they can have the same set up for Howerton. They typically shoot all Devito's scenes for the entire season separately from the individual episode filming. This way he can be on set far less than a TV shoot would typically require.
Here is the promo video that they released along with the above image. Sticking with the horror theme, it highlights some of the wacky side characters the show has accumulated in its lengthy run.
