Released to cinemas Nov. 17, “Justice League” received positive reviews from 24% of “top critics” polled by the Rotten Tomatoes website, including Ethan Sacks of the New York Daily News, Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times, Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun-Times, Brian Truitt of USA Today, Michael O’Sullivan of the Washington Post, Bilge Ebiri of the Village Voice, Owen Gleiberman of Variety and Brian Lowry of CNN. “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” mastermind Joss Whedon wrote and directed parts of it, and I’d like to believe the best bits are his. (Years ago, Whedon wrote and directed two much more popular superhero films all by his lonesome. Maybe he’ll do that again one day.)
