THE LEGACY OF A WHITETAIL DEER HUNTER trailer promises more awkward comedy from the team that brought you EASTBOUND AND DOWN!
The team of writer/director Jody Hill (OBSERVE AND REPORT) and Danny McBride (YOUR HIGHNESS) have created a brand for dark awkward comedy that has seen them find massive success with the HBO series EASTBOUND AND DOWN and VICE PRINCIPALS.
As many other fans know though, they got their start with films like the hilarious THE FOOT FIST WAY. Well, after a long absence for making films they have returned with Josh Brolin (TRUE GRIT) in tow for the father-son comedy, THE LEGACY OF A WHITETAIL DEER HUNTER. Here is the official synopsis:
Buck Ferguson (Josh Brolin), famous for hunting whitetail deer, plans a special episode of his hunting show around a bonding weekend with his estranged son, Jaden (Montana Jordan). With trusted - but hapless - cameraman and friend Don (Danny McBride) in tow, Buck sets out for what soon becomes an unexpectedly epic adventure of father-son reconnection in the great outdoors.

The word on this film was extremely mixed coming out of the festival circuit but Hill and McBride have both earned enough goodwill with me to ensure that I'll watch anything they put out together
