Hey folks, here's the trailer for SUPPORT THE GIRLS, written and directed by Andrew Bujalski, his first feature.
Regina Hall (the SCARY MOVIE films) plays Lisa, the den-mother manager at a Hooters-esque sports bar called Double Whammies where young women leverage T&A into tips. Over the course of one day, the optimistic and positive Lisa's faith in humanity is tested as she deals with unwanted drama from both her waitresses and her clients. The cast includes Haley Lu Richardson (THE EDGE OF SEVENTEEN), Dylan Gelula ("The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"), AJ Michalka ("The Goldbergs"), Shayna McHayle, Lea DeLaria ("Orange is the New Black"), James Le Gros ("Justified"), Jana Kramer ("One Tree Hill"), and Brooklyn Decker ("Gracie and Frankie").
Maybe this can't deliver, but what I see in the trailer makes me excited to see Regina Hall again (despite her working pretty steady since SCARY MOVIE 4, I don't believe I've seen anything she's been in), and newcomer Shayna McHale has a goofy charm I really love.
SUPPORT THE GIRLS arrives in theaters August 24th.
