With some newly spawned SPAWN casting news and it’s pretty big.
Jamie Foxx will star as Al Simmons (Spawn himself). An elite mercenary double crossed into an early retirement and then fooled again into becoming a reluctant fighter for the devil himself.
Todd McFarlane is directing the Image comic adaptation for Blumhouse so I’m expecting great things. He’s also aiming for a trilogy, though that of course depends on box office success as per, well always.
Anyone else super excited to see a new SPAWN?
The original film starring Michael Jai White was ok, but I hate John Leguizamo in it and really feel his comedy ruined the overall tone. Maybe, I’m just a hater?
I much preferred the 1997-1999 (18 episodes) SPAWN animated series!
I'm going to bare a bit and fully admit now that I purchased 4 first print SPAWN comics when they first came out. I just loved that cover art. Sad to say I can’t find one of these babies still around. Yes, I’m heartbroken. I did find a few G. I. Joe # 1’s (3) and the entire G. I. Joe vs Transformers series, and one series I’d forgotten about entirely the Indiana Jones comic so it was worth the search even with the pain my chest. I’m hoping the SPAWN comic didn’t gain in its value and I’m going to live that lie…For a bit.
And this, the coolest SPAWN image I’ve seen in a bit, it just reeks of The Lannister’s or whoever is in charge of the throne these days. Seriously, imagine SPAWN showing up in GAME OF THRONES at the end of Winter, only to wreck unreasonable havoc on characters and plot alike. It can be done!
