I KNOW CATHERINE, THE LOG LADY Documentary Prophesied In The Near Future... You Can Help!

AstroHeathen here!

I'm chomping at the bit, for news is quickly spreading of a documentary being funded about one of my favorite women of film, Catherine E. Coulson. The documentary will be made by Richard Green, who appears as the Magician in MULHOLLAND DRIVE, and also a producer of DAVID LYNCH PRESENTS: I DON'T KNOW JACK, about Jack Nance, Catherine's late ex-husband and ERASERHEAD star. So, needless to say, this documentary is sanctified by Lynch himself and will focus on Catherine's life as the Log Lady and beyond.

The documentary will be funded via a Kickstarter campaign, linked below, and states as such that follows:

"Join us today in the making of I Know Catherine, The Log Lady, an authorized documentary celebrating the life of renowned stage, film and TV actress Catherine E. Coulson. A life she dedicated to the arts, the environment, to spirituality, and to her fans, friends, family, and daughter."

"Who's the lady with the log?"

Most notably, she is the wise and quirky Margaret "Log Lady" Lanterman of Twin Peaks, however, she's been working with David Lynch since ERASERHEAD, a film in which Jack Nance, her husband at the time starred. Officially, she is credited at the Assistant Director of Lynch's film debut, but she also donated most if not all of her income to the film. As Lynch was struck with a vision of her holding a log and narrating her own TV show, another idea was caught for the strange and terrible tale of TWIN PEAKS. She stuck it out for the role of the Log Lady even til THE RETURN, nothing short of heartbreaking and astounding final performance.

Outside of Lynch cinema, she is mostly credited for camerawork, from STAR TREK II: The Wrath of Khan to THE KILLING OF A CHINESE BOOKIE, and eventually Catherine retired to Oregon and pursued Shakespearean stage performance.

There is an enormous grey area in between what little I know about this sublime artist that hopefully will be quenched by this documentary. I know her, like many, exclusively from the world of Lynch, but it's time she was renowned for her own power and grace.
