Hey folks, here's a trailer for THE KISSING BOOTH, a Netflix teen rom-com. Written and directed by Vince Marcello from the Beth Reekles novel, the film stars Joey King (THE CONJURING), Joel Courtney (SUPER 8), Jacob Elordi (SWINGING SAFARI) and Molly Ringwald (PRETTY IN PINK).
Elle (King) has grown up as best pals with Lee (Courtney). Elle has a crush on his older brother, ladykiller Noah (Elordi), but one of the guiding rules of their friendship is that Elle never dates him. To paraphrase Mugatu, now the forbidden fruit must be tasted as a school fundraiser puts Noah and Elle closer together.
This looks like harmless teenage love triangle fun and reminds me much of PRETTY IN PINK's Duckie/Andie/Blane love triangle-- and seems to draw the same conclusion that Ringwald did when she steered Hughes away from a Duckie/Andie union at the end.
THE KISSING BOOTH comes to Netflix May 11th.
