HBO Announces Shooting New WATCHMEN Series! Join Us In Scratching Our Heads!"

Hello All, Mad Dashiell here and thanks for joining me. Who Watches the Watchmen? Well, looks like we're gonna find out the answer to that soon. HBO’s Watchmen pilot will start filming early next month and there is some interesting exclusive news circulating from our friends at thathashtagshow.com!

Damon Lindelof is writing new Watchmen series and it is already catching people off guard. Lindelof is a noted fan of the 2009 Zack Snyder version but he sees the times we are living in now as a grim stage for a retelling of the Watchmen tale. Lindelof went on to say, “these are dangerous times.” Lindelof is putting a lot of work into developing the pilot but fans do not have a clue at all for what to expect from the new Watchmen series. There is a perplexing breakdown circulating for the group of series regulars that we can show you for now. Let's take a look--

"Angela Abraham: African-American female cop. Independent and intelligent, she’s also a realist. She’s married to Cal, with whom she has a daughter and is fiercely protective of them both."

"Cal Abraham: African-American male who is the stay-at-home husband of Angela. While he seems at home as the king of his castle and being a loving husband and father, it’s clear his past has a different story to tell."

"Looking Glass: A good looking cop, the native Oklahoman isn’t simple as his rural accent makes him appear to be. A top interrogator and behavioral scientist, he may also be a bit of a sociopath."

"Panda: An ethnic desk cop, he’s cynical and tough and puts his job first. Not a friend to many, he uses comedy to keep people at bay."

"Red Scare: Mafioso, tracksuit wearing cop. His Russian accent lends to his abrasiveness."

"Pirate Jenny: An androgynous and lustful bisexual cop, Jenny is an anarchist at heart. "

"Jane Crawford: The wife of the police chief, Judd, Jane is a veterinarian who’s sharper than her guarded persona lets on."

"Old Man: A former cop who is still an imposing figure despite his age. "

Are these Oklahoma police officers the ones who watch the Watchmen? Is it an odd bait and switch for the main Watchmen characters themselves through deceptive descriptions? It's still a mystery, but we at least know the pilot will follow the characters in that precinct.  Another possibility could be that the pilot follows the police that went on strike and protested against costumed vigilantes seizing their jobs, as depicted in the comics as the Police Strike of 1977. We could make assumptions all day long, but given Lindelof’s known fandom for the Watchmen, it’s hard to fathom that there might be a Watchmen show without any seeing any Minutemen or Watchmen themselves.

My crystal ball tells me that Alan Moore is already locking himself in an isolation tank next to Mr. Phibbles to distance himself. Thanks for stopping by everyone, tune in soon for more updates. Mad Dashiell signing off.
