Good morning, geeks!
One of my favorite shows right now will finally be returning next week. Hopefully we’ll get more than just 2-3 episodes before the show goes on hiatus again. I’ve complained about the frequency of the release of the new episodes before, as have many of the fans, but there’s not much we can do about it? I would love to just enjoy a season and see a new episode every week for a while, then when it ends, wait until next year to see the next season. Is that really too much to ask for?
Spacing out the episodes as Cartoon Network has certainly builds even more hype over the show, though. I’m not sure if that is necessarily a good thing, as I’ve seen some parts of the fandom turn pretty dark, but I suppose that has happened with a lot of fandoms as of late. For example of a fandom gone awry, there’s the McDonald’s chicken nugget sauce incident. The creators of RICK AND MORTY, Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon tried their best to distance themselves from what happened as far as possible, with right to because they had nothing to do with it. McDonald’s did that all on their own.
Anyways, Steven Universe is returning on May 7th with two new episodes. Will be more after that? Who knows… More than these two have not had air dates announced. Here’s the title and descriptions of the upcoming episodes.
Steven Universe Season 5 Episode 17 "Can't Go Back”

According to what we’ve seen in the promos, Lapis Lazuli will finally be returning in this episode. I’m excited to see more of her character development.
Steven Universe Season 5 Episode 18 "A Single Pale Rose”

Sounds like a lame filler episode, and maybe it is filler, but this should develop Pearl’s character further. Pearl has been obsessed with Steven’s mom for thousands of years. It’s been...what Steven is 15 years old now? It’s been about 15 years since Rose ceased to be, and Pearl is just now getting over it by falling for someone else that looks exactly like Rose, Mystery Girl---aka S. Mystery Girl gave Pearl her number during the “” episode. This is the only reason Pearl would even consider getting a phone.
