Hey folks, here's a trailer for THE INNOCENTS, a new Netflix series created by Simon Duric and Hania Elkington, starring Guy Pearce, Sorcha Groundsell, Percelle Ascott, and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson. June and Harry run away from their restrictive parents and become embroiled in metahuman/supernatural intrigue that was, unknowingly, with them their whole lives. With RUNAWAYS and CLOAK AND DAGGER, this is becoming a trend.
The whole body-swapping thing was a fun twist the first time I saw the trailer, but it just opens up more mysteries: what are their powers? Do they share powers, or is it just June?
This series has a YA sci-fi vibe to it. I can appreciate a seemingly-benevolent Haverson (Pearce) say the words to June, "You're a young woman in a frightening new world... I think you just need someone to walk through it with you." We already know Harry is that person, but it sounds like Haverson has another candidate in mind and a creepy agenda.
No word on a release date yet-- just '2018'.
