And why not? Cheetah was already announced as the villain for WONDER WOMAN 2.The third incarnation of Cheetah, Barbara Ann Minerva was chosen for the new movie, and is to be played by Kristen Wiig.
Actors and actresses reprising their roles include (of course) Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Ewen Bremner as Charlie and Saïd Taghmaoui as Sameer. Within the last week, it was announced that the NARCOS star Pedro Pascal was tapped for a key role in WONDER WOMAN 2, but as to what that role is, is still under wraps!
What we know about the story, so far: The film will be taking place during the 1980s. Wonder Woman will be taking on the Soviet Union (how timely). Somehow squeezed into a story about the Soviet Union, Barbara Ann Minerva, a British Anthropologist gains her cheetah powers! She does this by stumbling in on the middle of an ancient ritual happening within the lost city of Urzkartagan. Sounding a bit all over the place, but what else is new with DC?
Patty Jenkins is returning to direct, but will also participate in the writing process this time around. Also writing is Geoff Johns (THE FLASH TV Series) and Dave Callaham (DOOM, GODZILLA 2014, EXPENDABLES 1-4).
WONDER WOMAN 2 is set to be released November 1st, 2019. Production begins May 28th this year! The film will be shooting sequences with native IMAX cameras, fancy!
