Star Trek Discovery 1.13 FAQ

What’s it called?
“What's Past Is Prologue.”

Who’s responsible?
Teleplay is credited to Ted Sullivan (“Supergirl,” “Revenge”).

What says CBS All Access?
“Lorca plans to move forward with a coup against the Emperor, propelling Burnham to make a quick decision to save not only herself, but the U.S.S. Discovery.”

How does it start?
“One year, 212 days of torture. Of agony, my friends, my followers. But I have returned to give meaning to your suffering. Today is the day we reclaim our empire.”

Do we learn this week why we never learned about the aversion to bright light in the many other mirror Star Trek episodes?
We do not.

Do we go see or go inside the USS Defiant, which looks exactly like Kirk’s Enterprise?
No.

Does whoever kills the emperor become the emperor?
Yes.

Does Burnham or Lorca become the emperor this week?
That would be telling.

What’s doing with the Stametses?
The good Stamets is back to his old self. The bad one gets to hang out with Gabe Lorca.

What’s doing with L’Rell & Voq?
They are wholly absent from tonight’s episode.

Does this show still suck?
To me it still plays like weak fanfic. And tonight does not bring one of STD’s better episodes. Akiva Goldsman and showrunners Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts, who created “Pepper Dennis, have got to go go gooooooo.

The big news?
The best thing about this episode is it’s not afraid to make big moves.

What else is CBSAA not telling us?
We learn that Lorca got into our universe in a very different way than the one he used to get back out of it.

How does it end, spoiler boy?
Saru has news.

9 p.m. Sunday. CBSAA.
