Hey folks, Precious Roy here with some amusing footage from THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW, where Graham Norton had the cast of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE FALLOUT on to discuss the movie, including Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, and Henry Cavill. Cruise brought the footage of his recent ankle break that delayed the production.
Tom Cruise does an extraordinary amount of his own stunts. He’s not as insanely old school ‘go for it on a budget’ as Jackie Chan, but he does take on some pretty scary situations, if not necessarily as risky as they seem. The footage shows Cruise’s painful collision with a wall, when things didn’t quite go to plan, doing the kind of rooftop-to-rooftop jumps we take for granted in spy films.
The footage reveals a bit more of the safety and care that is taken to protect Cruise as he makes the leap, with multiple lines kept on him to prevent what might have been a bad fall. Norton and Cruise show the impact three different times, including a close-up that concentrates on his foot as it goes wonky when trying to improperly connect with a flat wall. And what happens next is too good to spoil—especially Rebecca Ferguson’s punchline.
