GHOSTLAND trailer is chock-a-block with the jump-scares!

Precious Roy here with a horror film that I’m starting to get interested in, GHOSTLAND (a.k.a. INCIDENT IN A GHOST LAND), written and directed by Pascal Laugier (BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF, THE TALL MAN, and the unbelievably brutal MARTYRS). It stars Crystal Reed (TEEN WOLF), Anastasia Phillips (REIGN), and Mylène Farmer (A GOOD YEAR) as a mother and two daughters who move into their new home, only to discover intruders trying to kill them. Years later, the daughters reunite at the house as Beth (Reed) is touring to promote her book about their experiences. The reunion awakens something in the house that isn’t done with them yet and seems to be pitting them against each other.

I like a good horror film, especially one with some heart to it. I want to love this, but the jump scares have me cynical. The creepy doll trope is becoming a bit tired, too... but there's something about the dialogue between the sisters... the hesitancy... the reassurances that they're alone in the house... "It broke me... and now they're playing with you..."  I suspect there’s more here than the trailer will reveal, and I want to see with Laugier has done with this.

GHOSTLAND is scheduled to be released in the U.S. in April, SUCKERS!
