Ghibli Kids has just released an official US trailer for Studio Ponoc's "Mary and the Witch's Flower." Check out the beautiful trailer!
This beautiful Anime opened in Japan back in July and is now headed to the good ole U.S. of A. Studio Ponoc is the successor to Studio Ghibli and was started by a bunch of former Ghibli animators and magic makers. This film tells the story of a little ginger-haired girl who discovers a broomstick and goes to a school for witches only to learn that the animals are being imprisoned. Director Hiromasa Yonebayashi who has a long history working with Ghibli and has directed the Anime films "The Secret World of Arrietty" and "When Marnie Was There", with music by Takatsugu Muramatsu, based on the book "The Little Broomstick" written by Mary Stewart. This is our first time hearing the English language dub, the film will be released for only one night January 18th, 2018 in theaters dubbed in English. The English language version features the voice talent of Ruby Barnhill (from Spielberg's The BFG), Kate Winslet (Titanic), and Jim Broadbent "Moulin Rouge" and "Gangs of New York.
So all you anime addicts mark those calendars January 18th and grab your broomsticks!
