Heya geeks! Big Eyes here to talk about THE NUTCRACKER!
There have been many iterations of the Russian ballet fairy tale, The Nutcracker. The new versions seemed pretty nonstop during the 90s, including one with Macaulay Culkin as the Nutcracker, so a nice break from the story was much needed. It has been quite some time since a new version of the Nutcracker has been brought to my attention, and I am very excited to see this one!!
The premise is described on IMDB as “A young girl is transported into a magical world of gingerbread soldiers and an army of mice.”

This new Nutcracker looks beautiful! I love the brightly saturated colors! I had to rewatch this on a larger screen before I could acknowledge that the Mouse King and his minions are in fact in this trailer, now I don’t know how I even missed it. I’m unsure what the “four realms” part is all about. I don't recall any divided realms in the original ballet, perhaps it is some sort of creative expansion on the story. Honestly only the beginning of the trailer looks most faithful to the original ballet, and then it goes waaaaaay off the rails from there, but in a good way! Plus MORGAN FREEMAN.
Definitely looking forward to this one, you guys. Unfortunately though, “THE NUTCRACKER: THE FOUR REALMS” isn't coming out until next year. This makes me a sad panda.
