So seeing as Disney and Fox are in talks about signing a deal that would give Marvel full power over the X-Men characters and storylines, Hugh Jackman is rethinking retiring as Wolverine! Whoo Hoo!!
Here is what Jackman had to say to Collider on Monday-
“It’s interesting because for the whole 17 years I kept thinking that would be so great, like I would love to see, particularly, Iron Man and the Hulk and Wolverine together. And every time I saw an Avengers movie I could just see Wolverine in the middle of all of them like punching them all on the head. But it was like, “Oh well, that’s not gonna happen,” and it was interesting just when I first saw that headline — it was just the possibility of it and who knows what’s gonna happen, obviously — I was like, “Hang on!” But I think, unfortunately, the ship has sailed for me, but for someone else, I would like to see Wolverine in there.”
Wowza, I politely disagree with Mr. Jackman there are many ways to reprise the role, after the badassery of "Logan" and the current anti-aging effects, we could have a digitally altered Jackman for every age we can imagine. I personally am not so into the digital eternal youth effects and would rather Jackman just be an old Wolvie, simply because in my opinion, those effects are not quite one hundred percent believable, but they are getting better. I admire that Jackman is alright with passing the mantle to another actor, I just wonder if anyone could live up to his performance in "Logan." Well, this is exciting news for all Marvel maniacs, let us hope that Marvel gets all the powers they need to create more mutant madness!
