Hey gang, Precious Roy here with another trailer to introduce… a new, Japanese trailer for 2018’s BLACK PANTHER.
For the most part, it’s all the same footage we’ve seen before: the lush jungle flyovers, the arrival in Wakanda, Klaw’s interrogation, Killmonger’s prison break, Klaw firing his weapon in the chase scene, etc. The trailer is announced with kanji titles and voice-over (which the music hilariously comments on).
There’s not a lot new here to be excited for from the previous trailers, but there are three new shots from a casino scene, shown so quickly in previous trailers it was difficult to tell where exactly Black Panther was. There’s new dialogue from Martin Freeman’s Everett Ross (looking very alarmed at T’Challa’s presence), some ensuing fight chaos, and Ross firing his gun on the run.
I am normally pretty gleeful about all things BLACK PANTHER, but it’s a lot to ask of a film, to top the jungle-run scene in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. I was already heavily on board for this film, so nothing in the Japanese trailers persuades me to want it more… I just wish February would hurry up already.
