FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST Goes 8-bit in New trailer!

Welcome back, geeks Big Eyes here.

Seems like there are more anime geeks out there on AICN than I thought, so here I am bringing up an update on the “Fullmetal Alchemist” movie that was just released in Japan on December 1st!

For those who didn’t have the show as a part of their childhood or teen years: FMA is a story set in a world based around alchemy, which pretty much acts as magic in this show, and it’s based entirely on equivalent exchange. Two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric attempt to resurrect their recently passed mother with alchemy, but it goes horribly wrong because there has been no real “science” on what the equivalent exchange of the human soul because it is an extremely forbidden practice. Ed lost an arm and a leg in the process, and Alphonse lost his entire body (now his soul resides in an empty suit of armor).  Now, they seek out the legendary Philosopher’s Stone to defy the laws of alchemy in order to gain back their body parts.

I’m sorry, I don’t speak Nippon so I can’t exactly tell you what in the heck is said in this trailer. Also, is Alphonse flipping us off in that first frame? They’ve really stepped up on the CG in Japanese films. Alphonse’s armor looks great, and we get to see a bit more of Lust, Gluttony, and Envy this time around in the new trailer!

The Live-action Fullmetal Alchemist will be release in the United States in the future, however there is no solid information as to when that will happen. I’ll keep you guys posted when that info comes out.

Signing off,

~Big Eyes
