Joe Manganiello (MAGIC MIKE) took to Twitter last night to give us our first look at his portrayal of the unmasked assassin Deathstroke. I think Deathstroke creators, Marv Wolfman and George Perez, have to be pretty proud of the very comic book accurate look Manganiello is sporting in the still below. Check it out!

We first became aware of Joe’s involvement when Ben Affleck posted to Instagram grainy footage of Joe in full Deathstroke regalia last year. I’ve included it here below for your viewing pleasure:
After this occurred we have since learned that Affleck is no longer fronting THE BATMAN and this was believed to be where we thought Manganiello as Deathstroke would first appear. Matt Reeves (LET ME IN) is now running the ‘Bats’ solo project and all details are up in the air as to what that film may actually contain.
Thankfully, Manganiello’s Slade Wilson is still planned to be heavily involved in the future of the DCEU. It appears that Gareth Evans (mastermind behind the mind-blowing RAID film series) is in talks to helm a Deathstroke solo film with Manganiello starring. I have to say this news has me very excited! Justice League showed an all-important course correction for the DC films in tone and I think their future looks bright. Especially, if they keep going after talent like Gareth Evans. Here’s a clip from Evan’s THE RAID 2, now just imagine Manganiello as Slade in this type of frenetic action sequence:
The possibilities are truly exciting with these projects! The anticipation and hype is just getting started!
