Nationwide Ghibli Fest, Last Weekend - Big Eyes!

Hey geeks, Big Eyes here, reporting that there is one last wave of a nationwide Ghibli Fest presented by Fathom Events and GKIDS, coming up the Suday after Thanksgiving! November 26, 27, and 29. So after you eat your leftover Turkey sandwiches, with mashed potatoes, and steal a slice of pie--because Thanksgiving leftovers is a traditional American burden--you should head on down to the theater to catch a dub of “Howl’s Moving Castle”! I know some of you guys may be butthurt that I wasn't reporting on the whole event earlier in the year, couldn't do that because I hadn't started writing here yet!

This event also features the GKIDS MINIFEST, an ongoing festival of award-winning short animated films from around the world, as part of the exclusive event experience.

“Howl’s Moving Castle” is one of my favorite Miyazaki films. It was an excellent theater experience. Funny enough, I had actually just finished watching it again two days before this story was brought to my attention. “Howl’s Moving Castle” has some amazing visuals, with a moving story, I’ll admit though, I’m not a huge fan of the dub. Some of the voice acting is weird and some of the story is literally lost in translation, trying to make English words fit in Japanese mouthings.

The young selfish wizard Howl is voiced by Christian Bale. Hogawd, Hu-hwut. I think I blocked that from my memory at some point after 2004. Billy Crystal is in this too as Calcifer, the fire.
