Local Austin film "MR. ROOSEVELT" Trailer N.Y. & L.A. release date! Dannie reports!

Hola Dannie aqui!

With the happy news about Austins locally made film "MR. ROOSEVELT" written, directed and starring the multitalented comedian Noël Wells, joining her onboard the film are actors Nick Thune (Laugh Factory, and Letterman Show, as well as cameo work in "Knocked Up" and "Extract"), Britt Lower (from the film "SISTERS" and television series "Casual" and "Man Seeking Woman") , Danielle Pineda (from televisions "The Detour",  "The Originals" and a couple episodes of "High Maintenance")  also joining the cast are Andre Hyland aka Buddy Lembek (his graffiti artist name) known for his work on many comedic series like... "Funny or Die", "The Daily Habit" and the film "Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie" which I have not seen but sounds like a laugh to look up.

"MR. ROOSEVELT" was the Winner of the Audience Award in Narrative Spotlight and the Louis Black Lone Star Award at the 2017 SXSW Film Festival and most recently won the Founders Prize for Best US Fiction Film at Michael Moore's Traverse City Film Festival! The trailer looks amazingly fun, in that "Oh shit, my life is chaos way!" here it is for you to take a gander at!

"MR. ROOSEVELT" will be opening in Los Angeles on November 17th also it will be opening in New York on November 22 this year!

This is Noël Wells feature directorial debut, in this film she is the character, Emily Martin a comedian who left not only her boyfriend abruptly but also her hometown of Austin Texas, to shoot for the stars in Los Angeles. When a loved one falls ill, she returns to ATX to find everything has changed. In a twist of fate, she is forced to stay with her ex-boyfriend (played by Nick Thune) and his new perfect girlfriend (Britt Lower), seeing her once home transformed as well as the people once in it, causes Emily to take a hard look at who she is. And who she wants to be.

I, unfortunately, missed this at SXSW but have requested a screener to review, as I truly look forward to it! I like how this film hints at the gentrification in our town and am interested to laugh and let us be realistic I am a softie cry during this film :)

I hope all you geeks and geekettes in L.A. and N.Y. have a chance to catch this one, so far it is doing very well at the fest's, winning awards and acclaim that combined with the hilarious trailer I am sold on seeing it!

Until next time..
