Hey y'all, Astro Heathen back again with another realistic terror: GIANT RATS! Or nutria, rather. Either way, they're bigger than my dog and that already puts me on edge. What would you do if an invasive species threatened your entire community's way of life?

Follow Thomas Gonzales, a Louisiana fisherman, as he battles to protect the wetlands and community of Delacroix Island against an ecosystem-destroying infestation of semi aquatic rodents the size of small beavers. This is a refreshing take on eco-activism from the perspective of people from "at the edge of the world" who are doing everything they can to protect their home and future generations, dwindling as they may be.

As said in the teaser, there ain't many people from here left to fight this battle. But those who continue the fight do so with resourcefulness and skill, hunting and trapping seemingly as many of these creatures as possible. One is held like a pet in a few frames of the teaser, but overall this is the perfect mixture of borderline campy reality TV and a serious environmental documentary to draw you in, but leaves you with a daunting problem creeping up on us all, with these people on the front-line. As we've seen recently, hurricanes are causing unprecedented damage and these furry little fucks aren't doing us any favors eroding the coastline and weakening the bayou.

I have to ask, would you eat these critters? I feel like a good community barbecue would really build the community's morale. Who knows, hunting nutria might be my true calling. Looking forward to seeing this one after it's premieres November 15th at DOC NYC 2017!
