Hola Dannie here with some awesome news about the new, somber, dystopian film, based on the best-selling trilogy of novels by Patrick Ness. The momentous task of capturing this bleak, diseased future is being put on the shoulders of a worthy director Mr. Doug Liman, who directed one of my personal loves SWINGERS (1996), as well as BOURNE IDENTITY (2002), MR. AND MRS. SMITH (2005), EDGE OF TOMORROW (2014), and AMERICAN MADE, which just came out on September 29, 2017, and I am eager to see!
The film is penned by two good fellows. First, the outstandingly talented Charlie Kaufman, who many may know from the cult classics BEING JOHN MALKOVICH (1999), ADAPTATION (2002), and the film that utterly broke my heart but I carry a spot for always ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND (2004). Charlie is joined at the writer's desk by Jamie Linden, whose films MONEY MONSTER (2016), DEAR JOHN (2010), and WE ARE MARSHALL (2006), I am currently underexposed to.
The film stars Tom Holland of SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, as well as, actress Daisy Ridley from STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS and the always intimidating actor Mads Mikkelsen, who I first saw on a PAL DVD copy of PUSHER (1996). He's probably better known for his work in the Hollywood hits DOCTOR STRANGE and STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE or the popular TV psycho drama HANNIBAL. These are three actors I really like seeing in new projects. CHAOS WALKING is set to be released March 1, 2019! Hope you enjoy the picture!
