Hola Dannie here! Deadline has dished out a third developing project for Martin Scorsese & Leonardo DiCaprio! This one encompassing one of our greatest and most controversial Presidents. Hated & loved by Liberals & Conservatives. He boasted about walking softly and carrying a big stick. A champion & founder of our National Parks and Wildlife preserves. As well as an advocate for equality in America when that wasn't very popular at all.
He was the founder of the Volunteer Cavalry which became known as the "Rough Riders" My Great Great Grandfather, Marcus George Lafayette Trowbridge, who trained with Roosevelt for the Rough Riders and went to Cuba, divorced my Great Great Grandmama, married a Cuban girl, stayed with occupational forces till he joined Teddy at the forging of the Panama Canal. Then died in Panama City in 1937. Heard many stories from my Grandfather and Dad so I'm kinda invested. Please include this part of Teddy's story!
Fun fact, Theodore hated to be referred to as "Teddy" - although we would not have "Teddy" bears to cuddle without that sleight!
Scorsese & DiCaprio now have 3 things to choose from. The Devil In The White City which I'm super stoked for, as it's about one of the scariest serial killers of all time, H.H. HOLMES. The final one being Killers of The Flower Moon which is a story about the birth of the FBI through Native American killings over oil. Familiar story. I'm excited about all of these titles. Work fast Marty!
