Matthew Vaughn and Mark Strong on terrible studio notes, John Denver and what's next for the Kingsman franchise!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I've dabbled in a few video interviews here or there over the years, but I don't do them very often. Now, while I clearly have a disposition for print sometimes an opportunity comes up that I can't turn down. When Fox asks if you want to go to London and talk with damn near the entire cast of Kingsman: The Golden Circle under the condition that you do your interviews on camera you kinda have to say yes, don't you?

I'll have five total interviews, about 5 minutes each, with Taron Egerton, Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Colin Firth, the great Jeff Bridges and, of course, Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn and star Mark Strong, which you can see below.

Vaughn is an interesting guy, a unique filmmaker that funds his own movies privately and only uses the studios to distribute them, which allows him a level of storytelling freedom unheard of in today's micromanaged studio system. That's why Kingsman and Kick-Ass could be such delightfully weird entries in their own sub-genres.

I ask him about that and he spills on some awful studio notes. We also talk about what's in store for the Kingsman franchise and Mark Strong discusses John Denver's Take Me Home, Country Roads, which we find out is a particular favorite of Merlin's in this flick.

Enjoy the chat!

Like that one? Make sure to check out the rest of my Kingsman chats in which Julianne Moore says I'm smart, Halle Berry and Pedro Pascal call me crazy, Jeff Bridges talks Tron and Taron Egerton talks about Eggsy's dire straights in this sequel.
