Julianne Moore on playing the nostalgic sociopath Poppy in KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Who doesn't love Julianne Moore? She can do it all. You believe her when she's sweet and kind and doubly so when she's off her rocker (Magnolia's pharmacy breakdown scene is an all-time favorite movie moment of mine). In Kingsman: The Golden Circle she gets to play the big, colorful villain.

Poppy is a drug kingpin by way of Betty Crocker. She has isolated herself on a mountaintop, has all the money in the world and spends it surrounding herself in nostalgic Americana. Much like Samuel L. Jackson's Valentine, her character has a pretty progressive end game. In the first Kingsman, Jackson solved our global warming problem... that solution just happened to involve most of the planet killing each other to lessen the environment footprint of the entirety of mankind.

Moore's Poppy essentially wants to be legitimized, to be rightfully viewed as a top CEO. She wants to break the glass ceiling and force a sweeping drug legalization in the process... she just does it in a way that once again threatens most of the world's population.

She's one of the most interesting and nuanced characters in the movie and we got to dive a bit into that character depth as well as talk about working with Elton John. Enjoy the chat!

Make sure to check out the rest of my Kingsman: The Golden Circle chats in with Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Jeff Bridges, Colin Firth, Matthew Vaughn, Mark Strong and Taron Egerton.
