Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. The Foreigner looks pretty damn sweet to me. I love it when filmmakers use the baggage a particular movie star brings with them in order to create something new. Jackie Chan isn't really known for doing harder, grittier, darker movies. Most of his films have a sense of goofy fun and there's a little bit of that shining through in bits of the trailer for The Foreigner, but it's cut with a more Taken serious tone that I think is quite fascinating.
Chan is the revenge-seeking father of a young woman killed by a terrorist explosion and he's out seeking justice. He has aged into this role pretty spectacularly. It's a departure from his usual fare and I can't wait to see how it all plays out.
