Hey folks, Harry here... It seems that the Bram Stoker estate has approved a prequel to the legendary Gothic novel, DRACULA... this one called DRACUL and written by Dacre Stoker and J.D. Barker. It'll be basically 21 year old Bram Stoker's accounting in 1868 of trapping the evil monster of our nightmares in an ancient tower. The novel has gotten quite the attention and bidding for the rights to the new book is a tad crazy, but Paramount Pictures has landed with the Film rights - which is being developed for IT & MAMA director Andy Muschietti! Again his sister Barbara Muschietti will be producing as she has on MAMA and IT - while IT producer ROY LEE will be joining DRACUL as well!
Don't get too excited. This is a project that is "down the line" for Andy - who has also announced working on SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS and we presume if IT is a huge success, well, I hope he'll be back for the adult tale to tell. Right? Oh and he's developing Joe Hill's LOCKE & KEY as a TV series!
Well, I'm off to go see Muschietti's IT in a few minutes. Fingers crossed!
