New Dark Tower Promo teases a bunch of Stephen King nods!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. One of the big keys to understanding world of The Dark Tower is that the central construct of the title is a lynchpin that holds together all dimensions and realities. There's the one we live in and then there's the infinite amount of other realities... like the one in which a teen buys an evil 1958 Plymouth Fury and the one where a father goes nuts in a haunted hotel in Colorado and the one where an evil clown murders children in Maine.

My first real exposure to the idea of a shared universe was probably the Universal Monster movies, but it was reading through Stephen King's work where the concept really clicked in. It's a cornerstone to King's work (Randall Flagg is the villain in multiple King stories, including this one, for instance) and The Dark Tower is what brings it all together.

It's not just fan service here, it's a crucial plot point. In the books King wrote himself in as a character. He didn't author these crazy universes, he somehow saw into other real realities. That's the concept behind the meta addition, anyway.

With Dark Tower quickly approaching, they released a little promo celebrating this aspect of the story. On the one hand it's great to see that those involved understood how important it was reference his other works here. On the other it would have been great to see these easter eggs in the theater for the first time.

Here's the promo the marketing folks put out there today:

By my count we got Shining, Christine, IT, Salems Lot, Cujo, Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, 1408 and Misery represented. Did I miss anything?
