Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Halloween is right around the corner (ie we're just about to start getting bats and pumpkins and shit pop up at stores all across America once the back to school aisle is raided and the kiddies get all their new school supplies) and that means the big Lionsgate relaunch of their successful SAW franchise is coming.
I still remain skeptical about the fan appetite for a return to this franchise, but I'll admit the first trailer looks sharp. The opening specifically is a different flavor than we've gotten from this series. Then we get to the Saw imagery we'd expect, like metal mask things and crazy complicated deadly traps.
It is a little nostalgic for me whether I'd want to admit it or not and the production value is a step up from the dully gritty green filter look the last few films had.
