Terminator 2 returns to theaters in 3D! Check out the trailer!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. As someone who isn't all that crazy about 3D I was strangely alright with that short-lived trend of retrofitting classic movies in 3D and re-releasing them in theaters.

It wasn't so much that I was interested to see a 2D movie pop out at me, it's that I love experiencing older films in a theater setting and if I have to wear glasses in the theater in order to do that then so be it. I'm actually a little upset that they gave up on the 3D Star Wars re-releases. Maybe they shouldn't have started with the prequels... I have a feeling if they re-released the Original Trilogy in 3D it would have done better box office.

Terminator 2 was a huge movie for me. I saw the original on VHS as a kid and T2 stood out because it was the first movie my parents were even more excited to see than I was. In fact we went, as a family, to see it twice, which never ever happened with any other movie before or after.

On August 25th T2 gets a 3D re-release in AMC theaters all across America. I'll definitely go check it out and maybe even get a chance to take my nephews to see it big and loud, just like I did the first time I saw it.

Below is a trailer to remind you of what a fun, big screen spectacle this movie is as well as James Cameron doing his best to talk you into going to give this conversion a shot. His best argument is the one I talked about above. It's not about seeing the 3D so much as it lets us experience this film the way it was meant to be seen. Here's the trailer:

Count me in, Jimmy!
