Herc Endorses Tonight’s AMERICAN GODS Finale & Almost-Last SILICON VALLEY!! Sunday TV Talkback!!

“This is all too big,” Mr. Nancy announces to Mr. Wednesday at the start of tonight’s season finale of “American Gods.” “Too much going on all at once.” Jeremy Davies, who may also be in tonight’s “Twin Peaks,” turns up about 20 minutes into the “Gods” finale as Jesus, but not the Mexican Jesus we met episodes earlier. Davies plays an American Jesus. There are many Jesi in this episode. Did they have as much dialogue in the Gaiman novel?

“What do you think gods do?” Mad pointedly and rhetorically asks Laura tonight.

Starz says of tonight’s “Come To Jesus”:

On the eve of war, Mr. Wednesday must recruit one more Old God: Ostara, ne Easter, Goddess of the Dawn, but winning her over will require making a good impression, and that is where Mr. Nancy comes in.

Old girlfriends are also big components of tonight’s “Silicon Valley.” And there’s a plotline that could neatly explain why T.J. Miller won’t be back next season. HBO says of tonight’s “Hooli-Con”:

The Pied Piper guys try to pull off a stealth plan at Hooli-Con.

Premiering tonight:
America’s War On Drugs (History) June 18
Botched (E!) June 18
Grantchester (PBS) June 18
Legends of Chamberlain Heights (CC) June 18
My Mother and Other Strangers (PBS) June 18
Next Level (CC) June 18

“Fear The Walking Dead” hit another new low last Sunday. The show is ditching its showrunner and getting Scott Gimple as a new producer, but those changes don’t take effect until next season. (Candidly, the feculent Kirkman-created “Fear” has so thoroughly soured the franchise, they should just let Gimple spin Kim Dickens and Alicia Denham-Carey into a new zombie series with a different name. “Shambling Dead” or “Conquest Of The Walking Dead” or something.)

The low-rated Tony Awards failed to best either Steve Harvey’s “Funderdome” or Steve Harvey’s “Celebrity Family Feud.” The Tonys are probably lucky Steve Harvey’s “Little Big Shots” or “The Steve Harvey Show” didn’t air last Sunday.

A summer edition of “60 Minutes” beat the second episode of “Megyn Kelly.”

The sixth episode of David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks” hit a 0.1 in the key demo last Sunday. That’s almost “Orphan Black” low.

Two weeks till new Sunday “Big Brother.” Five weeks till new “Game of Thrones.”
